The Anderson kid had many more than 20 plate appearances, in which he was hit or walked a bunch of times, and pulled off the field during big leads a few times and had an OBP of around .700 so you cannot blame his low at bats due to walks, HBP, or coaches decisions. He also had a good EDC tourney ending with the game winning hit for RR to beat Wahpeton and go to state.
Kenmitz did pitch well against Valley City and Devils Lake, got a win against Shanley after coming in mid-5th and then immediately falling behind but the offense rallied in the bottom of the 7th to get the win, then beat GFC in what was really a blowout. Meanwhile, Dufault and Mahoney faced the tougher teams, which is normal for your top pitchers, and did well while on the mound yet both ERAs got increased when relievers came in and the runners left on base always scored, which understandably is part of the game as a starter. It takes a team of pitchers and Kenmitz did a great job in his role, so I am not taking that away from him, however, to truly evaluate effectiveness, you also have to weigh the opponents faced as well.
Finally, I am definitely not saying Palmiscino does not belong on the list, I am just saying there are 3 others that easily could have been there, 2 of which could be argued had as much or possibly even more impact.
In the end, all I am saying is there were more kids than just one player on Red River that deserved the recognition, my goal is definitely not to put down any player at all, I applaud all the player's efforts and for gosh sakes they are still kids and I fully understand that.
