He is currently with the Islanders organization. Spent the majority of his career in the AHL, but has been up to the NHL a few different times with a few different teams.

I know Jamestown has had some pretty great hockey players come out of that town in the past. Brent Brekke(played a brief time in the NHL), Darin Erstad also was great in every sport he played. I played against Vig, Puluso, and Philion and Erstad is right up there with them if not better.

i beleive it was his junior year. he had a teamate jeremy ashiem that was up their in the 100 points too that season. tom philion from minot was up in the 100 points for that season. that was the year the west dominated the state. minot was #1 demons #2 and jamestown #3 at the state tournament.i beleive it was in 1991, 1992 season

I coached Erstad in bantams. Division 1 player for sure had he chosen that route. Guy is in top 5 of all around athletes in the state. Could of been an NFL punter too. Still has records in track in town here. Pretty dang good golfer too.
