Last year at a tournament in Rapid City, SD Minot faced one of the top teams in the country, a team that was at the World Series a year before.  When they faced Minot they threw their ace who could throw in the 90's.  He was also drafted in the MLB draft.  I believe Lundy went like 3 for 4 off him and hit a HR and a triple.   Minot did end up winning the game. I believe Lundy will get looked at and possibly drafted.

Lundy is the best returning high school player in North Dakota IMO.

Hit .560 with 12 home runs and seven triples last season.

He did well at a Twins Invite camp last summer. There were two sessions of hitting and he got a call-back to hit in the second (which was a pretty limited group).

He hit at least a couple homers and a few off the baggy. They had no questions about his arm strength or hitting ability, only his speed. He can hit off about anybody, IMO.

If anyone has a chance to get drafted in ND, it's him.

I personall dont think he'll get drafted, because if he does, he'll have to get moved. There's no way he can play right field in professional baseball. He doesn't have the power, and he definitely doesn't have the arm strength. Problem is, I don't see any position he could excel at. And a pro team wont take him if they know they're going to have to move him, unless he's a once in a generation talent.

If he gets drafted he doesn't have to play in minor or the majors right away.  He can go play in college and still get drafted.

I think Lundy may play some third base this season. He filled in there last year due to injury and did fine.
As for his arm, I don't think it's too bad.
When he's on the hill, you don't see too many people turning on his stuff.
He may not get drafted, but if he doesn't, I don't think it would be because of his arm strength.

I said even though Lundy is a good player, making the MLB would be very difficult being that he wouldnt be able to play the position he played in high school and there are a lot of good college guys that would get drafed before him. But I may be wrong.

The Kelly Green wonders out of Thompson are going to run away with the Class B state title in baseball this season.  Thompson had to have set a record last year by winning the state title game by about 20 runs.  They man-handled every team at the tournament last year and made Grafton look like a little league team in the championship.  After an 11 or more run first inning, there was no looking back.  The Tommies return most of the lineup that shelled every pitching staff it faced last year.  With guys like Jacob Wurtz, David Swatlowski, Zach Kvidt, Matt Greek, and the Kjemhus twins all returning for Thompson, it's almost inevidable that Thompson will run away with this year's state title.

I just opened up the sports section of the Bismarck Tribune today and read the coaches poll for west region class A baseball.  I realize that practice hasn't even started but what are these coaches thinking?  Dickinson #2?  Williston #3? Bismarck #4??  Have they even looked at the potential line-ups of these teams?  Well I have and I can tell you that Bismarck is the second best team in the west this year.

I have nothing against Jordan Huettl, I've seen him pitch on a number of occasions and he is a solid pitcher.  He may be Bishop Ryan's ace but there is a HUGE difference between pitching at the class A and class B level of high school baseball.  At the class B level, you only need to worry about two, maybe three, batters in the order.  Even if he puts together a great high school season complimented by a decent legion season, going D-1 or even being drafted (period) is well beyond his capabilities from what I have seen from him.

I guarantee you Dickinson will finish better then BHS.  BHS will be good and probably finish 3rd or 4th but Dickinson I believe has the most expierience back out of any team in WDA.

Who does Dickinson have back besides Frenzel and Schroeder?

Yes Bismarck High lost some very valuable players (Carr, Silvernagel, Standing Elk, Kopp) but they also have some very talented players coming back.  Matt Kranzler had a great legion baseball season for the BGovs last summer and I would take him over Frenzel on the mound and at shortstop any day of the week.  Jon Hausauer will be a junior and saw plenty of playing time for the Demons last spring, he was also a key reason Bismarck's 15 Y.O. Babe Ruth Team went to the World Series last summer.  Tyler Johnston swings a hot stick and is another reason for Bismarck's trip to the Series, look for him to split time behind the plate with Justin Connell.  Look for Clark Dingeman, Chad Broeckel and JB Johnston to patrol the outfield.  They may not be as athletic or hit as well as other outfields but they will get the job done.  Darron Olson may not be a household name but he is athletic and plays hard, he never leaves the field with a clean uni.  Don't forget that Drew Hendrickson transferred from St. Mary's and will see plenty of playing time for the Demons.  Look for Brandon Solemsaas to have a big year on the mound.  His junior year may not have been anything to write home about but then again, he was hampered by injuries.  He was having a very respectable summer (beat Fargo Post #2 in Fargo this summer) until he was side-lined by mono.  Brandon is healthy and has been working hard this winter, look for him to have great stuff on the mound this spring.
