Games That Are Intriguing This Week:
- LaMoure @ Wyndmere: This is the only game on LaMoure's schedule where I thought there was even a chance they get tested. I know there offensive numbers are crazy but what sticks out to me is that LaMoure has not given up a single point all season! There has to have been a lot of time where the JV was mopping up and they still haven't given up a single point. That being said I'm curious if Wyndmere is able to come out and score early if they can build enough momentum to compete late. I think LaMoure keeps on rolling on their way to an undefeated regular season but I do think their scoreless streak stops. LaMoure 40 to 18.
- Napoleon @ South Border: This should be a really good game that determines 2nd place in this region. I predict the winner of this game goes on to win at least one (but I think two) playoff games. This game is going to be a big deal come playoff time. I think it being in South Border makes a difference but think Napoleon gets the win 28 to 20.
- Divide County @ Ray-Powers Lake: A region championship game. Divide County has put up 143 points in the last two games but doesn't really have a quality win so far to know how much is competition or how much is how good they are. Ray-Powers Lake already showed it is real deal by winning a shoot out with Surrey. The other three teams in this region are a combined 1 and 12 so not much depth in the region outside of the big dogs. I think Ray-Powers Lake wins a slug fest 20 to 14.

Top 5 Games of the Week:
5-0 LaMoure/L/M @ 4-1 Wyndmere/Lidgerwood
This should determine the Region 1 Champion. #1 LLM has not been tested to this point in the season. W/L will be the best team that they have played to this point by far and should be the best team that they see until playoffs. While W/L has a tremendous running game that can move the ball against anyone and put up points, I am not so certain how their defense will stack up. They gave up multiple touchdowns through the air in their only loss to Cavalier and LLM is very good through the air.
My Prediction- LLM wins a competitive game 36-28
5-0 Bottineau @ 3-2 St. John
These teams currently sit atop the Region Standings with both of St. John's losses being out of region. North Prairie will also be contending for the Region title, but this game should have playoff seeding implications within the region for sure.
Prediction: Bottineau wins big. 44-18
4-1 Napoleon @ 4-1 South Border
A home playoff game is on the line here. New Salem has beaten both of these teams and is in the driver's seat to win the region, but the region runner-up will host a 1st round play-off game so this is a huge game in that respect. South border seems to be well balanced while Napoleon has an explosive offense.
Prediction- South Border uses their home field advantage to win 32-26
3-2 Mott/Regent @ 2-3 Grant County/Flasher
Again- this game will be contested between two teams seemingly in play-off contention and could determine whether or not a team gets a home playoff game.
Prediction: Grant County gets their offense rolling and wins 44-30
5-0 Divide County @ 5-0 Ray/Powers Lake
This is very likely the game of the week. Two undefeated teams battling it out for a region championship and a first round playoff bye. Ray/Powers Lake has had a little more of the spotlight on them after a win over Surrey a few weeks ago, but Divide County has quietly handled their business in dominating fashion, outscoring opponents 261-66 at this point.
Prediction- Divide County wins a mild "Upset" on the road. 26-22

In Region 5 I will take Central McLean over Kidder County in a close game (less than 8 points).
I will take New Salem big over R-T-H (over 20 points).
I will take South Border over Napoleon in a really close game (less than 6 points). If SB can run the ball and control the clock in order to limit Napoleon's chances on offense SB will win this game. The more possessions Napoleon gets, the more their passing game tends to click. Napoleon's QB is very good at extending plays with his legs and then finding guys open downfield.

South Border over Napoleon 28-8. Napoleon's QB went down with a leg injury in the 1st quarter and did not return, which had a big effect on their offense. South Border controlled the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball for almost the entire game and did a great job of running the ball. Hopefully the young man from Napoleon doesn't miss too much time. New Salem, South Border and Napoleon are going to be a real handful for anyone (except maybe LaMoure) come play off time.

IMO! There were three games that were a shootout tonight.
