Grafton's half of the bracket is Grafton vs. Glenburn and Kenmare vs. Wilton-Wing
Other half is Central Cass vs. Hettinger Scranton and Carrington vs. Langdon

If I was Grafton I think I would be pretty happy with how the tournament bracket shook out but maybe someone knows something I don't.

packers21 wrote:I actually think CC has the easier side of the bracket. Seeding for me seems pretty fishy.

I feel like after CC and Grafton it is a weak field. I really want to believe Kenmare can give Grafton a push, but I would be surprised. I'm not sure LEM and Carrington deserve to be seeded. They were rewarded for playing a tough schedule IMO.

I didn't expect Carrington or LEM to get seeded. I thought LEM stumbled a little into the post season and Carrington did play a tougher schedule but lost to those tougher teams mostly by decent margins. I expected Glenburn and WW to be 4/5.

I see #1 & #2 shooting straight to the Championship game without any slip ups. #3 doesn't have a proven schedule and is going to get rolled by 20pts when they meet up with Grafton. I would of preferred CC take on Kenmare but I guess we won't get to see that game. #4 CC already beat by 20pts in the regular season and Kindred beat Carrington by 30pts. CC has a Coach that will take the foot off the gas long before the Kindred Coach does. I also don't think LEM should have been seated but I guess someone has to take the spot. Hopefully we see some good matchups between teams other than the Championship game.

I personally don't see too many issues with the seeding. When it comes down to the state tourney, you should look at who they've beaten and who they lost to. What I looked at was the state teams and then threw in Kindred, Thompson, and Linton.

Cass was 5-1 against those teams with their loss against Thompson.
Grafton was 3-2 with losses to Cass and Kindred.
Kenmare 1-0.
Carrington 2-3 with losses to Kindred, Cass, and Thompson.
LEM 1-2, losses to Grafton and Carrington, but it's pretty obvious their win over Kindred got them the seed.
W/W 0-1 lost to Linton
Glenburn 0-1 lost to Kenmare
H/S 0-0.

Top 5 all had a win against a top 10 team. I know you can only beat who is on your schedule, but I could make a case looking at those games above, that based on strength of schedule they got it right. Now if Glenburn beats Kenmare by 1 instead of losing to them by 1, it changes everything.

Do you base this on the last poll? Or on if they were top 10 at the time of the win?

I will take:
Grafton over Glenburn by double digits.
Kenmare over WIlton-Wing in a single digit game.
Central Cass over Hettinger-Scranton by double digits.
Langdon-Edmore-Munich over Carrington by double digits. (After watching the Region 3 Championship game LEA has to put a full court press on Carrington don't they?)

Agree with the first 3, flip the last one around. Go watch the Region 4 Champ

Pretty sure they meant top 5 seeds in the state tournament.

I think the post had pretty sound logic. It's a great argument of SOS vs schedule. Don't necessarily agree but it made me look at it a differently.

I was meaning it as those teams beating a top 10 team. Because other schools other than the top 5 had wins against a top 10 team in the state at the time of the victory.

Sorry I should have said the 8 state teams plus those other 3 that were in every poll (I believe) for the entire year.

In 2019 when Kindred won it all, I think a lot of us expected to see them in the tournament the next 2 seasons. Gotta tip our hats to Central Cass. They took what looked like an inevitability and said no. Twice.

Today I'm going with:
Grafton
Kenmare (in a close one, coin flip, but I'll go with the experts)
Central Cass
Carrington (this game should also be close, coin flip)

Places from day 1:
1.Central Cass
2.Grafton
3.Kenmare
4.Carrington
5.Glenburn
6.Langdon (I think 6 & 7 could easily flip, kind of undecided here until I see Hettinger play)
7.Hettinger-Scranton
8.Wilton-Wing

Places for Day 2
1.Central Cass
2.Grafton
3.Wilton Wing
4.Carrington
5.Glenburn
6.Langdon
7.Hettinger-Scranton
8.Kenmare If your not 3rd your last!

After all these years Lynette Johnson's consistency behind the mic is unprecedented. Doesn't matter what game she's doing she makes it sound like it's the first time she's ever been on TV.

I don't know if I should blame this on Midco or not, but my picture quality leaves a lot to be desired. Smearing when the motion is fast, faces are blurry--in short, it looks like your average high school webcast.

Haven't watched 1 girls game this year, but after the first day I can confidently say #1 vs #2 will play in the championship, too much talent and depth on each team. I"ll take Grafton by 5 in the Ship.

Offense has left something to be desired compared to other years, but defensively really like CC #1 Cotton and #23 Smith and Glenburn #22 McIver. Oase probably the most complete player in the tournament.

And change the dang side lines.

Grafton 65, Glenburn 33
Wilton-Wing 47, Kenmare 40
Carrington 45, Langdon 39
Central Cass 58, Hetting-Scranton 43

Kenmare vs Glenburn (12:00 pm)
Langdon vs Hetting/Scranton (2:30 pm)
Wilton-Wing vs Grafton (6:30 pm)
Carrington vs Central Cass (9:00 pm)

We're definitely on a collision course for Central Cass vs. Grafton in the championship.
