Hettinger-Scranton at full strength? Linton-HMB beat they easily.

Yes, I believe they were. Tied after one and then Linton-HMB pummeled them. They couldn't handle LHMB pressure, and H-S got in foul trouble and never got going. H-S had a bad 2nd quarter and things snowballed from there. Don't make the mistake of underestimating LHMB, though They are a great team, and will be one of the top teams in the state for at least the next 2 to 3 years. No seniors on this year's team.

Central Cass should be right below Kindred, they might be better then Kindred. They should have beaten them last year in Regions. They are young and good.

Why should they have beaten them?

CC made a furious comeback in the 4th, were down by 1 with seconds left and had an uncontested layup opportunity that was snuffed out when there was a no-call trip on the CC player who was about to pass ahead for the layup. (full disclosure: most of the comeback occurred with Duchschere on the bench with 4 fouls)

Central Cass lost to Thompson already this year. Can't imagine why they should be ranked #2....six slots ahead of Thompson.

Central Cass is a good team...they will be ranked as the year progresses but I don't think they are a Top 5 team; They have some interesting matchups coming up that will help place them where they belong

Jan 4: @ #3 Grafton
Jan 13: vs. #1 Kindred
Jan 16: @ RV Carrington
Jan 21: Neutral Court game vs. #6 Linton-HMB (who I think should be in the Top 5 over Trenton)
Feb 10: @ RV Oakes

These 5 games (and not letting an easy one slip by) will shape where Central Cass will be as the season and poll progresses. I wouldn't jump them all the way to #2 right now cause Langdon, Grafton, Kidder & Linton are all very good teams (and so is Thompson...who they lost to by 8 in Thompson)

Don't sleep on FW-M in Region 4. Already have some big wins on their resume.

Anyone see the Grafton game? Carlee Sieben only had 3 points. I was wondering if she was injured.

I heard that Carlee Sieben was sick??? Someone was saying she had influenza. If that’s the case, Grafton probably would have won if she was 100%. That’s a kid that is averaging over 20 points.

Was at the game. Latasha Bellile was guarding her and she's a very good defender and maybe FWM is just a good team deserving of recognition. They didn't get any the last 2 seasons. Bellile and Dauphinais were snubbed big time last season for all state

FWM is legit - but maybe Seiben was sick and the girls who made all state last year were deserving.

I’ve never seen or heard anyone not give FWM the credit both their squads deserve. Take off the blinders.
It is a little harder to motivate kids I guess because they’ve been pampered so much. We’re in the trophy generation, give ‘em a trophy for 23rd place, make ‘em feel good. Make mom and dad feel good.” Tom Izzo, Michigan State Basketball

I agree, they are going to be tough to beat. They could very likely come out of the Region on top. This will be a fun region to watch towards the end of the season for sure.

Four Winds-Minnewaukan & Langdon/Edmore/Munich will be the class of each district and should be the Region 4 Championship. (sleepers: Harvey-Wells County & St. John; both capable of making a run and shouldn't be 'slept' on)

Grafton & Thompson are favorites in Region 2 as well
