Looking at the Regions that still play District Tournaments, there are a number of teams with below .500 records in their Regional Tournaments. Region 3 has 1, Region 4 has 3, Region 5 has 2, Region 6 has 2 and Region 8 has 3. (Not posted yet for Region 7). Does this make more of an argument for everyone going to Super Regionals?

I agree they need the Super Region format. But my prediction for each region

R1- Kindred
R2- Thompson
R3- Kidder County
R4- Langdon-Edmore-Munich
R5- Is a complete toss up
R6- Velva
R7- Hettinger-Scranton
R8- Trenton

The reason I said region 5 is a toss up. Is because Grant County, Center-Stanton, Shiloh Christian, Underwood, & Solen all have a shot at taking the region. To me Shiloh's loss to Solen in the D9 Tourney changes things a bit. I don't see a team in Region 5 standing a chance in the state b tournament.

But my pick to win the state b is down to Kidder County & Trenton.

We are in agreement. Region 3 has 5 teams that will have a chance to win the region. Carrington was without Hone throughout the district tournament, if she suits up for regions she will be a difference maker. Some very fun possible second round matchups. Oakes and Linton could provide a nail-biter on Monday.

100% agree. I will not be surprised if KC doesn't make it out of Region 3. They are a very good team and are well coached, I just don't see them as the best team in the state and I am not sure they are better than Carrington or LaMoure. Linton-HMB gave them a heck of a run in the District Championship, if not for a buzzer beater 3 that was banked in from the corner that sent the game into OT they would have been beaten in that game. THe Lintoh-HMB - Oakes game and the semi-finals and final in Region 3 should be a good one again!

If this plays out. What are thinking seeds will be?
Bold is my prediction.
HS would next to be seeded if there are upsets. I think if Grafton wins R2 and Langdon wins R4 Langdon will be ahead of Grafton.

R1 - Kindred
R2 - Grafton
R3 - Carrington
R4 - Langdon/Edmore/Munich
R5 - Grant County
R6 - Velva
R7 - Hettinger-Scranton
R8 - Trenton (but I think this region is WIDE OPEN)

Seeds:
1 - L/E/M
2 - Grafton
3 - Kindred
4 - Hettinger-Scranton
5 - Velva

If Trenton makes it to State they'll likely get a seed...Carrington wouldn't since Velva rolled them during season (just my opinion)

My seeding prediction would be:

#1 Kidder County
#2 Thompson (H2H over Langdon-E-M)
#3 Langdon-Edmore-Munich
#4 Hettinger-Scranton
#5 Trenton

Seems to get pretty wild come region tournament time. In region 1, 2, & 7 I think one of the play in teams makes it to their region semi-finals. It just seems like every year a team from one of these region gets hot at the right time.

Region 8
Mandaree over Kenmare
Parshall over Divide
Trenton over Burke
Stanley over New Town
Mandaree over Parshall
Trenton over Stanley
Mandaree over Trenton

Everyone is picking Trenton yes they have a perfect record but mandaree gave them all they could handle in districts with there two best players fouling out.
I think mandaree learned a lot from that game and they are finally healthy. IMO

Super regions 1 will have one for sure with a losing record and region 2 will have two both maybe more so I don't think it matters of they play districts or super regions. IMO

FWM has been overlooked all year. Supposedly upset Thompson and Rugby. They are as good as any team in the state. They are the highest scoring team in the state, have played the toughest schedule and lost by 2 at Edmore on a small court. I'm not going to be surprised if they are playing in GF in 2 weeks.

I wouldn’t be either...just think Langdon will come out of that region. Predicting is hard for nearly all regions as more than 1 team is capable to win it; IMO Region 1 is only ‘clear’ region to predict as no one has given Kindred a close region game...

Here are my region predictions:

Region 1 - Kindred
Region 2 - Grafton
Region 3 - Kidder County
Region 4 - Four Winds-Minnewauken
Region 5 - Center-Stanton (wild guess here)
Region 6 - Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood
Region 7 - Bowman County
Region 8 - Trenton

Is it just me, or is there more parity in Class B girls basketball than ever before? I know we've been trending in this direction since Bishop Ryan's 3-peat in 2015. But the last 3 seasons, the #1 seed (North Star, North Star, and Medina-Pingree-Buchanan) were fairly heavy favorites despite none of them winning it all. Regardless of how the region tournaments play out, seeding will be unpredictable this year. Kidder County and Trenton don't feel like undefeated teams we've had in the past.

None of those teams were heavy favorites. I would argue the favorites were Watford City, Kindred, and MPB.

In Region 3, I will take the field over Kidder County, if Hone is healthy its Carrington's region to lose. But on any given night, it could be KC, LMM, Oakes, Carrington or LHMB- whomever gets hot, wins.

I was just looking QRF rankings which show Langdon as number one ranked team and followed by Velva and then Fourwinds. The QrF ranking I was looking at was northDakota scores.net. I thought ranking for state tournament was done by the coaches of the state qualifiers. So I think it will be little hard to predict who will be top teams until we get through the regionals. I would think that if Langdon, Trenton, Grafton, and Kidder county come threw to the state these have to be considered the top teams with two unbeatens and two that quite high in QRF rankings just my thoughts on this.

Overall, I feel the competition is the weakest it's been across the whole state in a very long time.
You can have any team in the top 10 beat each other on any given day. There is no team that stands out.
I've watch almost every team play in the top 20.

So instead of complain that there isn’t a top dawg, why not be positive a happy there is such great parity that the state is wide open this year.
