Central Cass over Richland 72-69 in overtime at Richland. Owen Warrey hits 7 of 11 three pointers off the bench to finish with 29, I think. Also hit two critical free throws in overtime.

The CC vs Richland game was on BEK but I missed it -- anyone know if BEK does replays of their games?

Very interesting results.

Region 1 got more interesting, maybe Central Cass is in the discussion now. Before this week I thought it would come down to Richland and Kindred (with Enderlin a potential spoiler if they get healthy).

Cavalier had a tough week, losing a couple of very close games to good teams. Think they're still in the mix come region time, but this might cement them as the #4 seed rather than a top 3 team that gets a bye for the play-in round.

I think most thought Four Winds would beat NR/S but NR/S is very athletic and will be dangerous come regional time.

Most surprising result to me was Rugby losing to Carrington. Not saying that Carrington isn't good, I just thought Rugby would be undefeated going into their matchup with Four Winds in early Feb. Region 3 tourney will be a dog-fight!

It didn't take long for "no undefeated" to take place this year

I would contribute some of that to, "way back when" (or not that long ago) when a lot of tournaments were really kicking off in the 4th 5th 6th grade...I would say that between those tournaments and along with ECI & AAU as they got older and the numerous Native Tournaments for the Native American teams, that the Class of 2019 and 2020 all know one another perhaps better than any 2 grades in the History of Class B as far as, played with, played against, not just in school ball etc etc
Many of these players have seen a lot of playing time vs Class A players too.....
If you can’t excel with talent, triumph with effort.

How rare is it for a region to own the first and second spot in the poll for more than a week or two like Region 2 has?

If I drew a line using Highway 83 as my line, there is essentially only 2 schools west of 83 in that poll. Ryan and White Shield. And here I thought it was just hockey to the east. lol

So who do you think belongs in the poll from out west? (Not being a smart**, I don't get west of Bismarck very often and know very little about the western teams) I know Dickinson Trinity and Beulah are normally very good, don't know much about any one else.

Teams from the west that are quality that aren't in the poll (in my opinion)(west of 83):
1. Beulah (would be in the poll had they not been beat by Trinity)
2. Glen Ullin-Hebron
3. Dickinson Trinity
4. Mandaree (loss to TLMM is confusing to me)
could make a case for Flasher and Berthold as well

That being said I don't think I'd put them over anyone in the poll. Maybe over some on the RV list.

Sportsrube- I haven't watched enough Class B to tell you if someone from west of 83 should be on the list. It is just an observation. I am a data geek. Look at what you have and see if there are trends. Probably too much time looking at cows.

I don't think Cavalier will be getting any votes next week after the drubbing they took at Thompson on Tuesday.....

Great post. Super informative.
