They go back up to 2A undefeated. (They should never return to 1A)

You should never return to this site . Writing off every team that played Hillsboro with no simple understanding of any other team.

Great Game just way to many big Penalties for HCV to win and Big plays by LEM.

I look at it like this. Multiple PLAYOFF teams are forced into mistakes when the other team is well-coached and mentally prepared. It’s not a fluke those teams had those types of games against this team and I’m not a Langdon fan but give credit where it’s due. Langdon is a big-play air it out type offense that’s how they play, I thought HCV should of tried to take the top off a little more and get the ball to their best play-maker more. C. Henn. Overall I thought it was the best game of the day. Both teams played hard. I think HCV 7/10 times in the dome and 9/10 times outside in November.

I agree with this 100%. I think part of it is not controllable - you can't decide what the refs call or don't but a huge part of it is that Langdon doesn't make a ton of mental mistakes. They are really well coached and really well prepared. I also agree the HCV played a little conservative but the QB struggled some on Friday so I don't know if taking the top off was the answer. Overall great game to watch. Langdon did what they needed to and are now state champs.

I am curious you think would have been the outcome of a Thompson-LEM game this year for argument sake? Thompson had quite a few more players. I would have to give the Tommies the advantage, but in a one game deal you never know. Just trying to get some opinions

Hard to gauge that comparison as Thompson played games with 2 less players...

I would take Langdon with 11 players vs. Thompson with 9 players. I think the Cardinals would really use those two extra players on the field to their advantage. I'm not sure how Thompson would cover Langdon when they were short two guys. If you drop all 9 into coverage then Langdon just runs for 6 yards a carry. I will take Langdon by a score of 50 to 14. Thompson's playmakers would be neutralized by having two more players (one could be in coverage and the other could be a designated spy on the quarterback).
I realize this is a ridiculous analysis but so was the question so I assumed it is what was wanted. This argument is no different than the would Alabama beat Oakland, would NDSU play with Alabama, would the '72 Dophins beat the '07 Patriots, or who is better Jordan or James. They are apples to oranges comparisons that serve no purpose other than to get people worked up. Why are we not capable of leaving it at both teams were really good and were the best team in the state at their division this year?
