Shanley will be on top for the next two years. Lots of talent in this year's junior and sophomore classes. Huge freshman class as well.

If anyone is interested, the NDHSAA has started the process for the next two year football plan. Enrollment numbers are on the NDHSAA football page.

Has anyone heard if the AA Division in 2019 will include more than 10 teams? Seems odd that only 10 teams were in the current plan.

The administration at my school was talking about this one day and had said they are going to increase AA, I can't remember how many teams they said. Now they could have been talking about of their rear ends and I don't think anything is set in stone at this point either.

I kind of wish they adapt a MN style when it comes to AA. Let them schedule whoever they want and then seed the top 4-8 on QRF for the playoffs.

Unless they move Shanley and St Mary's to AAA (which rumor is they will be) AA will be those 2 year in and year out again.

Interesting. Haven't heard that. Didn't think that was a possibility. With Jamestown moving down, I would think it would be hard to move them back up now.

I have a hunch they will expand AA to 12 teams with 2 divisions in the next plan. I believe that puts Beulah and New Town up. Then two more up from 9man to fill out A. Looks like there will be a lot of movement of teams between A and 9man in the next plan.

I can't remember which way it was but one of the parochial schools has already told the ndhsaa they want to petition up (Shanley maybe?) and the other is pretty sure it will to. Also heard AA would be 16 -20 teams I suppose it depends if they leave a free week at the beginning of the season like they used to or have them play cross region for the first game or 2.

Is is possible to opt up into AAA? Not sure where it was stated, but I thought you could opt to any division except AAA.

I believe you can opt up, but you'd have to have a AAA team willing to move down. I doubt any current AAA team would want to move to AA. That's why the number of teams in the class is so important, because it has to stay at the number. For AAA, AA, and A, If someone opts up, someone else has to move down.

But they can change the amount of teams per class, basically have heard they will open up the amount of teams in AAA and AA to accommodate.
