Wait... so post 400 won, but doesn't advance? Why did they come, then? Based on the footnote provided, they could not have advanced regardless of any play-in outcomes.

PER AMERICAN LEGION RULES FOR POSTSEASON:

Williston is the host team and therefore qualifies to be in State Tournament regardless of, in this case, play-in result; If/When Williston lost they assumed the #8 Seed for the tournament.

Post on Facebook regarding the situation: "The Trappers came into the playoffs knowing the situation they were in and, as a team, voted to make the 7 hour bus-ride to Williston to play the game we all love: Baseball!!!
These young men have definitely learned some of the values that the American Legion hopes to instill in the young men who play the game. They are true to the Code of Sportsmanship that they recited at the beginning of the game.
Be proud, Post 400..... Be very, very proud!!"

Now I agree I don't like how things were done but those were the rules laid forward BEFORE the season started.

In my honest opinion, the Class AA American Legion reps need to look into doing a 10-team double elimination tournament...this problem doesn't occur then and every team is guaranteed 2 games (2 days) at State...I can't imagine it adds any more than 1 extra day for the tourney.
