how on God's green earth do you let FWM score on the tip? they've ran the same play for over a decade.

4winds Oak Grove winner will take the title. I'm going with OG.

I only watched the first half and I thought HCV looked very good.

Impressed by Ryan's attack mentality right now.
Less than impressed by the officiating. Currently three guys reffing three different types of games and one guy that's been beat in transition twice.

Shot selection & O-boards are the trouble spots for OG.

Ryan needs to keep attacking.

So I haven't heard seen Vetter from BR all night. He was an All-Region player. Did he get hurt in the region toruney or what?

Vetter has been out. In fact, he may have been out just as long as Wyatt Carr or quite possibly even longer than Wyatt. Because of this, I was unsure how he rec'd All District and All Region awards when he didn't even play during the District Games or Regionals. Oh well, who knows! Anyone Know??

Lots of great players yesterday in quarter finals, but was truly impressed with Wyatt Hanson of Stanley. I haven't had the chance to see him play before, but IMO yesterday, he was my top player of the opening round yesterday. He has got something special I believe, or did I see him on his best game of his life?

After watching 1st round i think either 4W or OG will be champs. Nothing against Hillsboro, just my opionion. I think OG needs to play one of their best games to win tonight. 4W just has too many guns. MaKay didn't have to take over last night, they had the game pretty well in control, but he definately has the talent to. But it should def be an entertaining game. Good to see alot of fans here too.

Like I said in an earlier post

If OG flexes it's muscels tonight they could get another shot at HCV (funny both teams in the late game tonight want a shot again at HCV)
But Ellendale might have something to say

Playing FWM must be frustrating OG is a good team but every FWM player is a great ball handler and when they decide to burn clock it's flat out fun to watch

Observations so far from first two days in Minot:

1. There are some talented kids in this tournament each team seems to have 1 or more studs.
2. Officiating has been consistent, which is all we want at this time of year
3. The state tournament needs to rotate between Minot and Bismarck, period.
4. I really like them announcing the schools songs to get people to stand, great blast from the past
5. The dude from FWM who is on the upper deck gets a thumbs up for his dancing during timeouts
6. 3 dollars for a bottle of water is ridiculous
7. Sportsmanship was lacking both ways in the last game tonight
8. I have heard some things come out of grown adults mouths this weekend when talking about 15-18 year old kids that those "adults" should be ashamed of, cheer for your team not against another team. Also, waving at a young man who played his heart out and just fouled out is a disgrace, shame on you.

Great post, unfortunately the idiot adults who yell at players and refs never understand that it is them that are being posted about, it is always the other idiots to them. Also, could not agree more with #3, the NDHSAA needs to stop putting basketball tournaments in football venues and in towns that really couldn't care less about Class B towns or teams.

New to basketball (never played, and just recently started watching), but I'm very impressed with this four winds team. I'm wondering if any of you guys could give me some thoughts on how some of these top class B teams would compare against some of the better class A teams?

That would be a great topic - How Class B compares to Class A. In my limited experience with Class A I would say the biggest difference would be that (in most cases) Class A has more depth and that the non-starters on most Class A teams would be better than the non-starters on most Class B teams. If you are watching the State Tournament, most of these teams (some of the best in Class B this year) only play 2 or 3 kids off the bench.

If you look at the box scores 7 of the 8 teams were basically playing 6 maybe 7 guys. TLMM played 5. I wonder how easy it is to do that with TV TOs. I've coached many kids that were never getting out of the game if the game was close and we were never on TV.
