75 free throws in a game

Postby The Schwab » Wed Dec 16, 2015 10:40 am

I can't believe no one has said anything about this. One team shot 75 free throws in a game? That's absolutely insane. They must have shot free throws 2 out of every 3 trips down the floor.

It was a very interesting game to watch. I will put it that way.

I heard they awarded free throws on a charge, and that game was officiated so badly it was laughable. Pretty big homer job. Heard all this from pretty reliable sources, were you at the game balla? Was it as bad as it sounds?

Bismarck Century and Minot played Saturday night. Minot committed 48 fouls to Century 13 and Mattern was still complaining. Imagine that

As for freethrows, Minot was 9-14 and Century was 28-45. Including Feeney's 25 attempts. Keep in mind this is a two point game under a minute left. Yup :?

It was definitely one of the more interesting officiating jobs I've seen. Minot couldn't breathe on Century without getting called, and when the same thing happened at the other end of the floor, the whistles must have malfunctioned or something. I'm not one to blame officiating for a loss, as Minot definitely had some chances, but when you are fighting an uphill battle like this, it sure makes it tough. I was impressed, though, to see some toughness out of them with their big man on the bench for a majority of the game in foul trouble.

Never sour grapes against Century. Quality team loaded with talent, and overall a great bunch of kids. Just would have liked to see the guys be allowed to play ball a little bit without so many whistles. The new "rules" rolled out for officiating this year that were supposed to add flow to the game have done exactly the opposite. It is what it is, and Century got a good win. I won't take anything away from their win. As I said in my original post, Minot definitely left some opportunities out there. Looking forward to seeing these guys play again! Always fun to watch.

This game has always been a knock down, drag out for the past 7-8 yrs. You don't want to go get popcorn because you could miss some thing special on the court.
