I was looking at state babe Ruth Tourney qualifiers and I see it looks like a lot of same towns that represent legion in class A and only couple of towns that are class b in legion. Also those towns are some of larger class b towns in legion like Carrington. I am wondering if they are need to split up Babe Ruth teams like they did for legion. Here in NE North Dakota there were only four teams left playing babe ruth this past year they were Grafton, Park River, Langdon and St. Thomas with Grafton winning again this year and having won Babe Ruth majority of time and if not played in the championship nearly every year. With that we have lost number of teams that don't field a team anymore. I hear it from kids today that they get tired of loosing to bigger town and soon we loose kids wanting to play baseball. Yes we have lost kids in rural area's but there's no reason we don't have few more teams there is only St. Thomas in Pembina county with no teams coming from Wahalla-Neche-Pembina; Cavalier, Edingberg-Hoople-Drayton; and in Walsh Minto; Midway; and Manvel used to field teams for babe Ruth. I also hear programs are suffering in some other towns around the area if we loose baseball I feel we have lost alittle quality of life and life experiences kids should have growing up. A lot of these towns still have numbers for pee wee and little league but something is happening after that to not have Babe Ruth and Legion programs. Maybe its because we have high school baseball and kids get tired of playing baseball don't want to play in the summer. I just think its one sport where you just can play don't have to worry about grades, taking time away from school, and you don't have to be tall, big, fast, but just have good eye hand coordination and learn to play the game smart you can do quite well in filling some roll on baseball team.
