Mandan, Dickinson, West Fargo, Jamestown, and potentially Williston are all smaller than Aberdeen. Your population center argument falls apart almost immediately.

Outside of Rapid, SF, and Aberdeen, SD has Watertown, Brookings, Pierre, Spearfish and Sturgis, none of which are in the top class.

Wf 29,878
Dickinson 20,826 (2 years ago)
Williston 20,850 (2 years ago)
Mandan 19,998

Aberdeen 27,333
Watertown 21,995
Brookings 22,945
Pierre 13,994
Spearfish 11,107
Sturgis 6,883

While it seems that in SD Watertown and Brookings could also play in the top class, it's not the size of the town that matters its the enrollment of the schools. I don't know if either has another high school that takes some kids away or if their populations are just older, who knows. But with the size of the schools currently in Dickinson and Williston, I also agree with Indy that they belong in the top class in ND along with all the publics in Minot, GF, Fargo/WF, Bis/Man. Jamestown in stuck in the middle and I would be fine with them down a class. I think DL needs to be down a class.

Come on Heimer. Like I said, Mandan and West Fargo are the same thing as Bismarck and Fargo, really. There's a difference between those towns being connected to those population centers and a 27,000 person town on its own like Aberdeen. Oil makes it almost impossible to get a true grip on Dickinson and Williston, in my opinion. My argument said if this were pre-oil, I'd absolutely support Dickinson and Williston not being mixed in with the bigger cities. Now, that idea changes. Like I said, I'm fine with Jamestown either way, so I'll let you have that one then.

Rugby's 17 on that list, but it has a much smaller school district than other similarly sized towns. That list doesn't really prove that much. I know it's a bit late to join the convo, but just throwing that out there.

Completely agree with you Hammer. This list says nothing about the school size, just the community size.

Can't give yourself a point. Like the thought put into your system heimer, but I'd have to give the point to Hinsa on this one(at least his comment on comparing ND and SD........not the Cinderella topic)
