Of course, the state bracket also listed the semifinals being played on Febraury 13 and 18, so, you know.....maybe there will be a tourney, maybe it was already.

Typical.

Oh, and if they get it fixed, I'll verify with a pic. Just sayin, their bracket says the semis were back on the 13th and 18th of February.

Interesting to note the contrast between the combined records of the teams in Game 1 (25-23) vs. Game 2 (41-7) or 3 (42-6).

I was very disappointed to hear that such a good athlete got hurt again. I was really surprised that he even played basketball this year considering his previous injuries, and that baseball is probably is best sport. With that said, CHS should have had more depth. They're a very large school, and one of the best players has been struggling with injuries for about 2 years. Defense wins championships, but offense gets you there. I think they will lose the 1st round.

My comment was based on the chronological tournament schedule according to the EDC and WDA websites. Jamestown and GFRR are playing in Game 1.

Regardless of that, I think it's time a playoff format is used to set up to state rather than having the two conference tournaments. Just have the quarterfinals be play in games for state and keep seeding based on regular season standings. That way you don't end up with 2 of the top 3 teams in the state playing each other on Thursday because of an EDC or a WDA tournament upset.

congrats Magi!! watched the title game online (WDAY.com) and the ''feed'' went bad during/after the 18.5 sec. to play timeout mark. then came back for the postgame stuff. just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if, perhaps, there were problems with the regular TV broadcast near the end of the game?

No issues on TV broadcast...other than Izzo yelling into the microphone as usual.

I had issues yesterday online but it was only because of my internet connection. So that would be my guess...if that wasn't it then I don't know.

You missed Minot miss FTs and Wahlin's (Century) game-winning attempt was just long. It was a great comeback by Century but if Minot makes FTs down the stretch...Century wouldn't have been that close.

Fun game to watch for sure. Bolinske played solid all game except for a few sloppy TO's in the 2nd half and it was fun to watch Century battle back with Wahlin catching fire at the end.

It wasn't very fun if you were in the stands, if you know what I mean.
Unfortunately, there were a lot of open seats. Mostly because there were two west teams in the Fargo tournament.
The Bismarck Civic Center was Packed for the WDA Championship. I'm not just saying this because Minot was in it. I don't remember the last time I didn't watch a championship game. It makes a better atmosphere with packed house.

The tournament really was different without the Bismarck Demons or Mandan Braves in the tournament, and it would have been nice if an East team would have advanced. Fargo is not the best venue for these tournaments.

Fargo is great when the BSA isn't under renovation. When they have one floor at the Dome and one floor at the BSA it's good. The issue is that 2 courts at the dome isn't very good. The last day with the bleachers moved in, the venue is very good. The stands are also in all tourney long when the BSA is used. When it was in Fargo last time, the atmosphere was outstanding because 2 edc teams played in the state title game. The crowd will always be lower when 2 teams from the region not hosting are playing for the title. The BSA is a far superior 2nd court/venue than the exhibition hall at the Bismarck Civic Center. Obviously the main floor at the Civic is the best, but not every game is played on the main floor and you have to consider the whole tournament under normal circumstances.

One of the worst things about the Fargo dome, is the two courts in one building. I don't want to hear the other game going on. Also, the screen should show the game on the other court, like Bismarck.

I think more people are worried about the fact of 2 games being played inside the same venue. Also more people care about the main court than the 2nd court, BSA Vs. Exhibit Hall and that's just the truth. The view on TV was terrible compared to the Civic Center. The radio guys mentioned on Thursday that they had talked to multiple East coaches who all said "let's just keep it in Bismarck every year because the Civic Center is the best venue for it."
