The placing for 1998 and 2011 is not correct. I cant find the correct placement for it though.

then both the book I found this in and the other source is wrong...anyone have anything from 1998. The teams listed above are correct but I guess the order is out-of-whack :(

In 2009, I believe Hankinson took 5th, then Kenmare, Stanley, and Standing Rock. Not sure on order of 7th and 8th.

I swear I remember Katie Lorenz and Langdon making state her Jr. or Sr. year. Looks like 2001 was her Sr. year according the Ms. BB wiki. Anybody from Langdon who knows for sure?

If she graduated in 2001, 1999 would have been her junior year and Langdon is listed as runnerup for that year. The girls' played in the fall then so 1999 would be the 1999-2000 school year.

Since the state re-did the regions in 1998 - Region 6 has won 9 of the last 17 state championships.

scc, Class B reduced from 24 districts to 16 in 1992-93, but the regions were flipped around a bit in 1998-99. What is now Region 3 was Region 5 until 1998. I know Region 8 used to be the southwest part of the state when I was in high school.

Yes, the South West used to be Region 8, then Region 6, now it is Region 7. I don't know the exact years, I think it being Region 6 was only for a few years before the final re-numbering. If the current re-numbering dates to 1998, which feels right to me, then it was Region 6 sometime between 92 and 98. Region 6 had their regional tournaments in Mandan, so many of the schools currently playing regional tournaments at Trinity had to go to Mandan rather than play regionals in Dickinson. Feels like that was only 2-3 years, though.

To be honest, I'm curious why they even felt that they had to do that re-numbering.

I think it came about back in 90's when NE North Dakota used to be Region 3 but loss of so many schools in region 3 and 4 there was reshuffling of regions and region 3 was moved to teams around Jamestown and old region 3 was spilt between region 4 and region 2. I think this caused whole reshuffling of a lot of the other regions in the state. The teams in region 3 were following were Pembina, Neche, Walhalla, Cavalier, Drayton, Edinburg, ST. Thomas, Valley,Park River, Midway, Minto, Park River, Fordville, Adams, Edmore, Langdon, Nekoma, Osnabrock, Milton, Hampden, Alsen, Hannah, Border Central, Munich, Starkweather, Cando, Bisbee, Egeland, Rolla, ST. John, Rolette, and Rock Lake and I probably forgot some too. But today out of this area there only remains about 10 teams and I think it was similar for region 4 also drop in number of schools. This when we went away from 32 districts to 16 districts in the state.
