How many losses did Grafton have back in 2008? That's the only team I can think of that might have close to Milnor's total.

Interesting thing though is Milnor lost 4 of their first 6 games of the season...then they went 20-2 to finish the year off (the two losses were to Maple Valley both by single digits in the regular season on the road and on a neutral court).

I don't think the 2008 Spoilers had many losses at all. I'm going to say 2 or 3 at the most.

I'm totally spitballin here and have no mathematical actuarial basis for my answer. But I'd say Class A.
19 Class A school - average of 1000 kids per HS 9-12 = 19,000 students
109 Class B school - average of 100 kids per HS 9-12 = 10,900 students.

Obviously give or take a couple thousand - but A would still have more in my hypothesis.

After a "little" research:

Class A Schools are roughly 18,000 students (Bismarck & Century enrollement numbers are 10-12)
Class B Schools are roughly 12,600 students

So BB11 you and I are pretty even on the Class A...I think I might be closer on the Class B numbers as I did some research on the "B" enrollments at the beginning of the BB Season

I asked this on a different forum and got a couple different answers so I'll see what you guys think.

Rules question:

25.5 seconds on the game clock, 24 on the stot clock. Team A takes a legal shot with 0.2 seconds left on the shot clock. As the ball is in the air the the game clock runs out, but the shot ends up being an air ball. So I'm guessing the choices would be.

a. quarter/game over
b. team B gets the ball with 1.5 seconds remaining
c. team B gets the ball with how much time was remaining on the game clock when it became clear the ball would miss the rim
d. something else?

B - Team B gets the ball as soon as the shot clock runs out. Doesn't matter if there is an airball, pass, dribble, whatever - once the shot clock runs out - game time is stopped as it is a dead ball infraction.

1.7 seconds in the air. That's some arch on that shot.

The period ends. Just because the shot clock sounds does not mean there has been a violation. The shot was released before the shot clock horn sounded. There is no violation here.

Saw this in a game this year team was up by about 15 points with the ball and was running out the clock about the same 1.5 sec difference. Instead of shooting a shot kid just kind of threw the ball in the air, horn on the shot clock blew and the refs put 1.5 back on the clock and finished the game.

If the game horn sounds while the ball is in the air, the game is over. If this happens with 6:00 on the clock, you dont go back and put time on the clock. The play is not dead until someone touches the ball.

On the same situation, what would do if there was a foul underneath?

Call a foul on A, put 1.5 secs on the clock and award the ball to b?
Call a foul on A, put 1.5 secs on the clock and have b shoot free throws
Call a foul on b put 1.5 secs on the clock and award the ball to a?
Call a foul on b, put 1.5 secs on the clock and have a shoot free throws
Since the foul occurred during the official horn, there is no foul?

3. If a foul occurs so near the expiration of time that the timer cannot get the clock stopped before time expires or after time expires, but while the ball is in flight during a try or tap for field goal. The quarter or extra period ends when the free throw(s) and all related activity have been completed. No penalty or part of a penalty carries over from one quarter or extra period to the next, except when a correctable error, as in 2-10, is rectified. No free throw(s) shall be attempted after time has expired for the fourth quarter or any extra period, unless the point(s) would affect the outcome of the game.

Here is what an NCAA official from the NSIC told me today.

Once the official determines the shot has ended, a shot clock violation has occurred and there should be a whistle to kill the play. The defensive team will get the ball at the spot where the ball was located when the violation occurred. That is the NCAA ruling, but I am assuming this is an NBA question due to the 24 second shot clock.

I assume you mean FGA. If a player could do it in 14 or 15 that would be solid.

What is the most wins by a HC in ND history? Carr was over 500 like ~10 years ago. He must be 650-700 range.

Carr I believe has 608 wins in ND and 36 more in Minnesota.
Ed Beyer is believed to be the states all time leader in wins with 688.

This is a really good article about Dan and the success he has had as the HC in Linton. Pretty impressive stuff.

I wonder what Linton's record was in 98-99, I'm pretty sure that was the year they didn't make it to regionals. They were the 8 seed and upset the 1 seed Napoleon, but ended up taking 4th and losing to Strasburg in the challenge game.

The 89 Bisbee-Egeland team that won it wall had about 5 or 6 loses----headliners were Flanagan, Hagler, a few others I forget.
