I don't know anything past the top two. Those two are probably right though. Bishop Ryan will be very good. Took 5th at state last year after losing to West Fargo in the first round. Only lost one player and I don't even know if she was all region.

Century's success last year was due to their talented senior class. They will be rebuilding for a while.

I think people are underestimating Dickinson... they had some really good young summer teams the last couple years, girls who are now moving through the HS program. I also don't think Devils Lake or Red River will be in the top 5. I don't think Red River will fare even close to what they have before when it was 3 regions... They have to play all the east schools for conference play, not just Central and Devils Lake... My top 4 from the east are 1. West Fargo 2. Shanley 3. Devils Lake 4. Red River I may have shanley too high, but they only had one senior last year if i remember, their hitting should be good. I think the only team that will have really good pitching in the east will be west fargo so offensive production will determine the east. And I just think WF and Shanley will have the most fire power. My top 4 from the west are 1. Minot Ryan 2. Dickinson 3. Century 4. Minot High I could really see dickinson coming in at #1 from the west. It will be an exciting year now with both the east and west having region tournaments to decide who goes to state. Although I think they should have moved Devils Lake to the West region to make the regions 8 teams each until another joined out west instead of 7 west and 9 east. one team there will be left without a shot to even play in a region tournament.

1. West Fargo
2. Century
3. Minot Ryan

Century and Ryan return their starting pitchers, but West Fargo alway has depth. Dickinson will be in the fight in the WDA tho.

Again this year, i think it is WF's to lose. They will have another hard throwing pitcher, and a great lineup. I dont think as much power as last year, but still good. Shanley will have a better lineup this year just because they have more experience now, but they lost their main pitcher from last year. They are going to have to score a lot more. North may be in trouble from what I hear, and same with south since they split into 2 teams with davies. Valley city lost their pitcher from last year, so will be interesting to see if they can still place to 4. Same story with devils lake. GF Central can't really go down from last year so hopefully they improve a bit, and you never know what can happen with red river, somehow they surprise people every year. Not sure about Minot High, but i think Ryan will be pretty good this year pitching wise, and century will still be strong. Again dont know much about bismarck high this year. But dickinson will sneak up on everyone i think... 1. WF 2. Century 3. Ryan 4. Shanley 5. Dickinson

I agree that WF is still the favorite, and that Dix will be be a factor because they have been building a strong program. Do you know how many teams each Region can qualify for State?

Thanks! I wasn't sure if the WDA would have 4 teams at State since they were down 2 compared to the EDC.

I think it should be 5 from east and 3 from the west since Devils lake stayed in the east. I really think that they should have been in the west at least until 1 more team joined out there.

Its no different than in Basketball...especially when WF gets their 2nd school. EDC has more schools.

Anyways...its only a difference of two schools...I could see something done differently if there were like 10 EDC schools and 6 WDA...the numbers may change next year too.

As earlier scores may have shown, Fargo south didnt do so hot in there first game against the animals of west fargo. i feel that they have great talent on the team such as Kaitlyn Krabbenhoft and Madison Navarro. Krabbenhoft, scott krabbenhofts cousin, was out of the games with a sore shoulder. but look to her to come back as the ace for this young and talented team. With leadership from the captains, i believe with all my heart that these girls can make a run to the title game.

Wasn't Devils Lake ranked higher than North? Looks like people are underestimating north this year...

not gonna matter if they are under estimating north. WF just put up 30 in one game. they will take the east with ease... i watched the north game and saw shanley playing at same complex. does shanley have any upper classmen pitching? the girls that threw for them tonight had to be like 7th or 8th graders...? they still beat Davies in game that counted for points with one of the young ones pitching... North Hit well tonight from what I saw. So did Shanley, wasnt impressed by davies or devils lake.

The season is very early, and I hope for the sake of ND fastpitch, the bigger schools like North, South, Davies, etc really get their programs going. WF is definitely the favorite, but there are a lot of games to be played. The west teams get going this week so we can get a good look at the other early favorite. Century at Dickinson will be a big game to see where their programs are.

They have a senior that pitches for them but my guess is that she and a few other players may not have enough practices yet since they just came back from a 2-week choir tour.

After attending the Davies-Shanley game last night just a few thoughts. Both teams were error proned in the first game.Making mental mistakes that happen in a first game scenario,Shanley was without their #1 pitcher and alot of last years team was in the line up and played like experienced players.Davies playing in their first game together with new head coach and assistant coach,Also Davies started 3 seniors 1 jr and 1 soph 2 fresh and 2 8th graders.Only 5 starters have played together before last night.Considering the 10-7 score in the sloppy first game and the fact Davies won the second game with the same basic line up,The battle for the 2-3-4 spots in the EDC should be fun to watch.Red River and North are solid also in the EDC.IF the WF girls dont wear their knees running around the bases(47-1 & 36-1) they should be #1 in the EDC.Dont know much about the WDA.
