North Dakota Preps

Any news on the 6 man front this season? I have not heard a word on any media or from anyone. I kind of thought this might be the wave of the future for small schools a few years ago (whether I liked it or not) but now it seems to have gone away completely.

I have scores on my website…only 5 teams this year after NB & M-M went back to 9man and D-A cancelled their season and cooped with Velva

Thanks WalkingStick I will check those out today. Do the local media cover these games at all? We don't have any that are anywhere close to my area so I don't really expect to hear much from Bismarck media.

I'm not sure what will happen to 6man in the future. Losing 3 teams from last year hurt and Center-Stanton is basically playing half a 9man schedule this year so will they stay? Looks like Parshall is planning on moving down next season and I have heard Warwick is considering starting a team for next season. Will Madaree and Drayton be able to keep fielding teams? Any other teams thinking about moving down?

I've heard Benson County is dissolving for football...so is Leeds & Maddock looking at their own 6-man teams?

No, it didn't work out for exploring 6man. Leeds is going with Northstar and Maddock with NR-S starting next season in football only.

Mandaree has now cancelled their football season...so 6-man is down to 4 teams

New Town is playing an independent schedule but surely could be a 6-man team if they wanted to at this point.

Center-Stanton and Trenton are the top 2 teams...but White Shield has shown improvement from G1 to G2

I've seen KFYR show the Center/Stanton score on a Friday or two.

Center-Stanton is 4-1 (3-0 vs. ND 6-man)
Trenton is 2-2 (1-1 vs. ND 6-man)
White Shield is 1-2
Drayton is 0-1

Mandaree & Drake-Anamoose cancelled their seasons (D-A before games started).

Drayton is in a tough spot as they are no where near any of the other 6-man teams.

New Issue for 6-man teams...no officials; even for a Tuesday night game.

White Shield/Drayton is postponed now

So started the year with 7 teams and ended up with only 3 basically.

Is 6-man going to make it in ND?

I certainly thought it would take off, but unfortunately it looks to be gone. Looks like possibly 6 teams for next season, but will Mandaree and Drayton be able to field teams after many forfeits this season? Parshall has forfeited the last two years of 9man, will a new coop and 6man be the difference? I had heard Warwick was looking at fielding it's first team next season, but will that become reality? Will Center and/or Trenton make the jump back to 9man?
