The defending state champion Stars (25-2) will try to make it 2 in a row when they play in the title game.

The last team to win back-to-back titles was Larimore in 2004 and 2005.

Keplin scored 12 points in the first quarter, and Bottineau jumped out to a 27-12 halftime lead over the Bulldogs (24-2).

Kayla Roemmich had 12 points and 5 rebounds for the Stars.

Bowman County shot just 31% in the first half and its second-half comeback bid was derailed by poor free throw shooting and turnovers.

?We haven?t played a lot of teams that attack you from behind a lot and that kind of killed us,? said Bowman County?s Abby Nasset, who had 10 points and 7 rebounds. ?We had a lot of turnovers from them coming from behind. They played really good full-man pressure.?

Bottineau forced 23 turnovers.

?We work hard on defense and defense is what helps us win games,? Bottineau?s Maribeth Geiszler said.

Allison Hanson shared the team lead with 10 points for Bowman County.
