Is there any team that can match up with the height of Grafton? CC has no one over 5'11", Grafton has 4 on the floor at 6'3", 6'2", 6'1", 6'0". Squirrels having a hard time with it. They had an 11-0 run to catch up, but then Grafton went on a big run of their own.

Take the heights with a grain of salt. I believe Walker is 6'3" but usually you can subtract 2 inches off of every girl on the roster. Moe was 5'10 in VB and 6' in basketball. Cassie Sieben was 5'10 last year and 5'8 this year in Mayville. Julia Dusek always grew two inches from VB to basketball too.

CC actually took the lead too. Grafton struggled with CC's press. Smith gets so many loose balls and she is incredibly strong. Her passes are so strong, like literally strong. She gets a lot of power behind them. Good game.

What???? Basketball coaches add to their players heights???? Next you'll be telling me that football coaches add a few pounds to their players too!

maybe the VB coach SUBTRACTS 2 inches from everyone. It's hard to judge from a webcast, but it sure looked like they were considerably taller than whoever they were matched up with on the CC side.

Well apparently Four Winds matches up well with them but their tallest girls are: 5' 11", 5' 10", 5' 9". I'm less concerned about matching up with their height than I am if Grafton has enough guard play to get through a regional tournament and on a run through a state tournament. Yeah they have size but I think you press hard and run a smothering 2-3 zone taking away down low and I'm not sure the guards of Grafton can get it done at this early point of the season. They still have time to develop and grow obviously.

Thompson will have the best shot vs them in the region, but they won't press unless they absolutely have to and I don't think they would play zone either. The only time I remember them playing 2-3 was the 3rd place game in Minot a few years ago vs MPB when they were HUGE. I haven't seen Thompson play this year so I'm curious how they would match up.

Were the games in Jamestown today being streamed? Link, please, if they were.

You're suggesting Thompson GBB may be predictable??? Nah.
I've seen a couple THS games online. Some good size with a couple of younger players that seem to be doing pretty well and figuring it out. Still, I think the young Tommies would struggle against a player like Demers. She has size, skill, and knows how to get away with the stuff in the paint that you keep doing until you get a whistle. Or two.
Big difference from THS last year is the guard play. Losing a player like Hughes is huge, but filling that role seems to have produced some impressive passing and ball sharing. Time will tell.
THS plays CC tomorrow night - that'll be a good litmus test for both teams.

One would have suggested FWM & Shiloh today; FWM won 68-66 in 2OTs.
Northern Cass travels to Cavalier on Wednesday for an intriguing game
Shiloh plays Langdon on Thursday in Minot and plays Kindred on the 1st in Jamestown

Shiloh/Linton should be on Shiloh's YouTube...they've streamed every game so far

#1 Kindred def. #3 Grafton 74-67; Grafton took a lead with under 4 minutes to go...then Kindred finished on a 10-2 run.
#6 Linton-HMB dominates #7 Shiloh Christian 43-24
#2 Four Winds-Minnewaukan def. #8 Thompson 65-51

I don't think Quam played for Shiloh.

Does anyone know if Quam is sick or hurt or why she was out? Shiloh missed her scoring ability against Linton HMB.

Is Kenmare healthy? I figured they would be better.
Northern Cass can look so good some nights, but they can't compete against the very good teams like Grafton.
Good win for Thompson tonight. I was thinking MPCG should compete with them. They can't.
If I had to pick a favorite right now I would pick Central Cass.

Central Cass will play Horace tonite in Casselton to replace their scheduled game with Larimore. Neither the Larimore game nor the game with Linton have been rescheduled.

Should be an interesting game tonight as Horace's JV has been doing rather well as of late in the EDC JV games. This is a much better matchup for Central Cass then Larimore would have been.
