Yes, Meiklejohn is a good player, I just didn't see much talent in the rest of the team. Who knows, maybe they will beat LMM tonight and prove they deserve to be up there.

i think that lamoure might be lmm's last challenge left in district 5...after the way they shut down central prairie (i thought no. 2 in the district would be either lamoure or central prairie) this game might go a long way in setting up the pecking order for districts.

Besides LMM and LaMoure is there any other teams in District 5 that are gonna give those 2 a run, or is this a pretty sure bet LMM vs LaMoure for the district crown?

if ellendale had a guard or two establish some consistency they might be ok...bcn was doing all right until they went to the barnes county tournament and then they crashed and burned. kulm seems to be overmatched, though i like giesler and vogel and edgeley just doesn't quite shoot well enough for a team that has trouble rebounding, though schulz is one of my favorite players in the district. pbk has flashes where they play really well, but aren't consistent yet.

if i had to guess right now it is lmm and lamoure, tough to say in a couple of months.

LaMoure won by around 10. They controlled the game from the middle of the 1st quarter on. Definitely not a top 5 team. I think they might be top 10 team. Kirsten Cuypers was controlled very well by the loboes. around 10 points i would guess.

Wow, that really surprises me, maybe they are clicking now since I last seen them.

Who cares about the poll? Why would you want that target for your team? The media votes anyway and they don't really have a clue. Just win and keep on winning and everythig else will take care of itself.

I don't see how SD is ranked below Bowman, didn't they beat them in the linton shootout earlier this year with their only loss coming to new salem which is ranked 1.

Ya I pleaded the same case in the last poll. It doesn't make any sense at all. SD is easily top 5 in the state in my opinion. They are such a complete team that is well coached.

agreed, sand is agruably the best girls coach in region 3. However, flyberg could also be considered with the success he has had over the yrs down in linton. It should be fun to see how these two teams match up on friday.

so here's some interesting news... Drayton-St. Thomas who didn't even get votes remains undeafed by beating ranked Midway-Minto. Region 2 is gonna be a dog fight until the very end.

Some of the teams getting votes should be happy with the early season success. Let's see if they can keep it up.

Just gonna throw this in here.  You talk about how SD is ranked below Bowman and they beat them.  HN beat Midway-Minto and they are ranked below them.  The only loss HN has was to #2 DP.

Minn-Leeds beat Kindred, but lost to AE the 4th game of season by 3 points. Midway-M lost to D-StV tuesday so I would guess M-M will be out of the poll or else right at the bottom. Its just a poll, who knows what they are thinking when they write it I guess.

if the latest poll is anything close to being correct then i would say that Region 2 is the toughest region to make it to state from.

maple valley beats lmm by five...being ranked in the poll is apparently kryptonite to the rebels as they lost the last time they cracked the top 10.
