Grafton, not as good as I anticipated. I didn't think there was a class B team that could play with them. I was wrong.

Agreed.

Grafton had chances to win but I expected them to be dominant this year as well.

After watching the game, I would say that these 2 will be playing again Saturday in March for the State Championship.

Central Cass would be the only team that could change that if they come out of R1, but yeah I think it's going to be R1 v R2 in the championship game.

Technically there will be two State B title games for teams in Region 1 to play this year. Too bad they both can't go to state because they deserve it.

Thompson beats Central Cass 38-37. Probably not a result anyone expected. I don't think it's crazy to see Thompson win, more that those two teams were in the 30s. Anyone that I saw comment on it who watched said it really was a great defensive game, which is fun to watch. That definitely makes the Region 2 tournament a little more interesting.

Thoughts on the region championship game? Does Thompson have a legitimate shot at taking down Grafton? Final score from when they played in the regular season was 75 to 54 back on 1/19.

I think in many instances this Covid thing is being taken advantage of when it comes to Sports...no third and fourth place game? the Radio announcer didn't even know that last night...he mentioned that Cavalier would meet up with M-M on Thursday.....and Now region 4 will come to the Betty? everyone wants a Piece of the Pie while young players get jacked around like a pinball machine....I hope strength comes from all this (with the young athletes) in the end, vs deterioration....

The 3rd/4th place game has been something many have wanted to get rid of for awhile in Regionals. Sure it's nice to give the seniors one final game on the way out, but its a pretty unnecessary game under regular circumstances. All of this extra stuff is for optics and nothing else. Region 4 not having a site for their championship game can be credited to Devils Lake. This was one of the only options, thankfully GF doesn't have their heads completely buried in sand. I don't even think the all-conference or year-end awards are going to be announced or recognized.

As we all know, Covid would spread like wildfire if 10-15 kids wearing masks came down to the court to pick up an award, but it wouldn't spread to the 15-20 not wearing a mask that played basketball in each others faces for an hour and a half. Yikes.

Totally Fine with any Teams playing anywhere...just play all the Games instead of Playing "Games" due to a Pandemic...........
