Games started on 12/14 with a full slate on 12/15.

Of interest a pretty good Benson Country team defeated LEM. https://www.devilslakejournal.com/story ... /43271023/

Hettinger had an easy first game. CC and Richland tonight that could be interesting.

As far as "Hettinger" goes, the roughrider tournament 1 vs 8 game is usually a blowout. Also might want to include Scranton in the name, as their two top players go to school in Scranton.

Hailey Quam of Wilton-Wing goes for 36 points and 20 rebounds in her first game of the year. Any other big games opening night?

Wilton-Wing will be really good this year. District 10 is a three team race for the top spot. I would give Wilton-Wing a very slight edge over Central McLean, and Center-Stanton, my fourth team would be Washburn. I could see Wilton-Wing in the same spot they were in during the volleyball season, that is playing for a region title.

No live video stream of any Jamestown Classic games today or Monday; couldn't make it work.

740 The Fan has all games on the air for Saturday.

I'm hoping this open things up a little more. Just have to wait and see how the schools handle it.

NDHSAA Regular Season Attendance Guidelines

Yellow/Moderate Risk Level - Effective - 1/8/21

*The following event tiers will be used to determine maximum fan allowances for NDHSAA regular season events in accordance with ND Smart Restart Guidelines.

Yellow/Moderate Risk Levels are:

Tier Seating Capacity Maximum Number of fans
1 3,500+ 50% of capacity up to 5,000
2 2,001-3,499 50% of capacity up to 1,750
3 1,001-2,000 50% of capacity up to 750
4 <1,000 50% of capacity up to 500

*Athletes, coaches, athletic staffing and credentialed event staff are not included in the total.

*To determine a facility’s seating capacity, use the established occupancy limit defined by fire code official.

*Social distancing shall always be maintained and the use of face coverings is required by all fans at all times.

*Concessions are permitted during contests held in the Yellow/Moderate Risk Level if social distancing can be maintained during consumption of food or drink.

*Non-compliance of any existing Executive Orders may be reported to the NDHSAA Office by a member school administrator.

*NDHSAA member schools and/or local leaders may approve more restrictive attendance guidelines for regular season contests.

*If student competitions and performances are in jeopardy of being compromised the NDHSAA Board of Directors will adjust these guidelines to ensure students are allowed to participate in their respective seasons.

Some schools will change...others may not. I’ve already seen a few say no more vouchers or wristbands this week even though that doesn’t go into effect until Friday.

Still going to have to wear the masks for awhile in buildings but hopefully we can keep our numbers low so we can have a better atmosphere for games.

why isn't CC v Kindred game listed on the kindred youtube channel?

Both of CC's BIG wins this year came down to absolutely clutch free throws when the pressure was extreme--McKinnon vs Grafton and Lee tonight.

thanks, Run.

So annoying when the students have to stand for the entire game. Blocked off only a few plays on the webcast, but I'm sure it affected the views of some spectators if they were in the upper middle rows.

Limited fans so I’m sure it effected less than normal. Normal occurrence at R1 rivalry games...nice to see student sections being vocal (while following the new rules). It was a good game with a great atmosphere at a time where there hasn’t been many.

It was great to have good numbers of fans in the stands. Players definitely noticed and appreciated it being "loud."

Sophomore, Hailey Quam, from Wilton-Wing, had 45 last night. I don't follow much basketball outside of regions 1, 2, 3, or 4 so how good is this girl?

So far she's outworking everyone to high point & rebound totals...tonight was against lowly Max but 45 points is 45 points (post player). It's too bad Shiloh game was early in the year and then was removed because of the 2 week lull. I think Shiloh/W-W would be a great matchup.

If you ever got a chance to watch Amber Stevahn play at BSC a couple years ago, its the same skill set. She is a 5'10 post that runs the floor like a guard. She gets the rebound and she is off, otherwise she fills the lanes on transition. It helps she is lanky, and can jump out of the gym.

Apparently Kindred doesn't want anyone scouting their varsity teams, as there is only one game still posted on their Youtube channel.

LOL...well anyone who has hudl and films their games can get those films from other coaches. So many ways to get a hold of game film nowadays.

Wonder what that's all about? Sam doesn't think these kids and parents would like to go back and watch someday? It's not like it's taking up too much space on YouTube. Oh look I'm impressed again!

I'm not a coach, and I'm not that involved with this anymore, but other than direct exchanges with local teams, I didn't think coaches were supposed to give game videos to other coaches. I got in to major hot water twice in the past for doing that -- one incident was about 8 years ago and another probably 15 years ago, so apparently attitudes have changed with the new technology. Obviously you can't control what some other team puts up on Youtube, but you can still limit the amount of games readily available by taking down your home games. I'm often asked to remove my streamed games at the end of the regular season so they can't be used for Region or State foes.

Considering it takes more effort to remove a game from Youtube than it does to just leave it, there must be SOME reason why some teams take them down. I remember teams using NFHS a couple of years ago that would take their videos off right after the game and indicate that they would be available again at the end of the season.
