A source from the Casselton area told us that Casselton doesn't allow freshman to start, don't quote me on that but that is what we were told when we inquired about it. I will say she does bring that spark off the bench though.

CC started 3 freshmen last year

My guess is still new to the game and yes she is quite the 'kick-start player' off the bench. My guess is she will start next year.

Like I stated, I just heard it from someone and I thought that was silly reasoning. I like her off the bench, I've seen many 6th "men"(or woman in this case) do more damage off the bench than starting. I did not know she was new to the game, she's fun to watch and will be fun to watch develop the next 3 years. Sky is the limit for that young woman.

I've heard that too. Add to that her aggressiveness on defense, and fouls have been a problem for her. Great kid with lots of upside.

1) do you think a team that goes 27-0 and wins the state by a 17 pt average should have had more than 1 all region player?
2) I presume you just watched the tourney - who on Langdon’s team appeared to have a bad attitude and displayed poor sportsmanship?

They certainly could have had more than one there yes, coaches didn’t see it that way. No, I don’t think the coaches got together ahead of time and said we are going to do this to LAEM. They, as a team, won the ultimate reward...a state trophy. What more could a player ask for other than to be part of that great TEAM? I do watch a lot of Region 4 sports for both boys and girls as the region always puts together a powerhouse. The boys side isn’t going to be much different either. In ten or twenty years not many will remember who was all district or all region, but most will surely remember the exciting state tournament we just got to watch and who won that reward.

Just because they won the ultimate award, which they DID, doesn't mean that it is inconsequential who receives a post season award. Langdon's girls obviously put a lot of work into it, their is no reason they shouldn't be recognized for it. Of course, i'm sure those girls wouldn't trade what that accomplished as a team for individual accolades.
Now can you answer my second question?[/quote]

2020 state tournament was very good and Betty sure has been good venue for the state tournament. I expect a lot of the teams that were at the state tournament will be again in the mix next year for state tournament. Grafton and Rugby return there whole teams for next year, LEM returns 5 of their top seven, and Shiloh and Hettinger Scranton return much of their core players for next year, and Central Cass return number of players for next year but we forget Kindred will be returning most of their core players also for next year. Then there are number of other teams that lost in regions that could rise up and be very much contenders next year. It has been exciting couple of years here in state with number younger players that have been making there mark . I will look forward to next year because it looks to be another exciting year for girls basketball in the state of North Dakota.

I did not see what you are describing here. I thought you were referring to the LEM parent section, where 2 adult fans/parents of LEM players were outwardly taunting the Central Cass student section, then 1 of them verbally went after Central Cass players as they were coming out of the game and to the bench directly in front of the LEM section. A guard went into the stands at one point and talked to the person in questions, then he was removed from the stands and escorted behind the bleachers. Several other LEM fans/parents came running down to intervene and the fan was allowed to stay in the arena.

LEM communities and schools should be proud of their players and coaches for their accomplishments over the entire season and the weekend. They should be equally embarrassed that their fans/parents would verbally attack young ladies from opposing teams.

I'd probably be more worried about the physical assault that happened between the adult and the player, but maybe that's just me.

I still have the game on my DVR, care to direct me to an approximate time in the semi-final this happened in?

Not sure you will see it well on TV, but I don't know if you will be able to or not. 3rd quarter. Semi Final Night, Last game. You can see the Home Teams assistant coach call a time out and then approach the player, don't know if you can see the grab.

I witnessed the incident with the assistant in person thought it was totally unacceptable. You are never to put hands on an athlete especially when mad or frustrated. The coach in question is already way physically bigger than the athlete much less to manhandle her like that.

I watch a lot of region 4 not just the state tourney. I’m not sure what the coaches felt that made their decision, I just threw out a suggestion. The coaches that make these decisions make them based off more than a few of us that watch a few games and become the experts on who shoulda been picked. My guess is all the coaches involved in the decision had an opportunity to plead there case on how to vote right?

Foremost, I didn't see the incident. But you seem to be upset by what happened and that is probably a good thing.
That said, when you use the words physical assault, you're talking in some very serious terms. I truly hope you have contacted the school district officials or gone through other proper channels to have the situation properly addressed. Postings here are only causing speculation and rumor, and do nothing to protect the students. Good luck to you.
