With the loss of Kindred which I didn't expect has changed how the teams will be rated and how the brackets start shaping up. My guess now will LEM will be rated one; Trenton rated 2; Grafton Rated 3; Lamoure rated 4 and Rugby 5 but you could easily put Central Cass into 5 spot and rest would be random pick. Grafton and Trenton I feel will get the 2 and 3 spots and it doesn't matter much because your on same side of the bracket. LEM being rated one may not mean much this year because they could end up meeting Central Cass as opening round opponent and then also if they win they will then have Lamoure or Rugby to high quality teams. Also other side of bracket is similar with high quality teams possible there to. My feeling this year teams in tournament are all high quality there is not big spread between them like in the past.

When I wrote it was right after the game but I didn't send it right away it was afte I watched news and sports on tv. So I didn't even look other than I saw the state tournament thread. sorry but didn't think they would seat tournament until today because of Friday game.

I guess it wasn't super well known but the tournament got seeded during the 2nd Intermission of the State Boys Hockey Semifinal game; even with Friday night games they always seed it on Friday during State Hockey. Just thought it was odd that your post popped in after I had updated the seeds here...hence my response (reasoning makes sense).

With this seeding, I really like Grafton's chances to take it.

Thank you to Central Cass for making my tournament experience 100% better. Many basketball fans up and down the Red River Valley (probably with the exception of the Kindred and Oxbow communities) appreciate it!

I'm pulling for Langdon, I hope Scheer sends a picture of himself with the trophy to PR for their trophy case.

Trenton vs Langdon for the state title. And the Trenton Tigers are my pick to win it all.

Bold prediction....Langdon takes the championship with an average margin of victory for the weekend of 20 points per game. I know there are many good teams at the tourney and it's no knock to them, but Langdon is just on another level right now and I don't see the momentum slowing.

As long as LEM isn't the #2 playing the first game of the day, they should be fine??? They have a good sized monkey on their back the first day...

They should get past the first round ok, but then will have to beat the team that took out the states number one team. This will be no easy task and we will find out if they are capable of the pressure or not. Lets also not forget about Grafton, they have found something late in the season that will give them the opportunity to hoist up the hardware as well. This should be a fun state tournament to watch, its any ones tourney to win.

I would agree that Langdon is the favorite but an average margin of victory of 20 points is crazy high. So just for arguments sake I think the hardest set of opponents for Langdon would go: Hettinger Scranton (have to play - 1st round), Central Cass, and then Grafton (Trenton would be tough as well). I don't see a scenario where they beat those three (or two of the three) by 20+ points. Langdon is very good but I think every other ranked team this year is also really good. Should be an interesting tournament, but ultimately yes...Langdon would also be by favorite heading into the tournament. Anything can happen at the B though!

It would be hard. I think the only way it happens is if they beat HS by 35+. I think HS is pretty decent though. Sounds like their post player has been playing really well.

I agree that it's probably not likely, that's why it's a bold prediction. They've had 3 games all season within single digits. The last time they were really tested was against Grafton a month ago. They already have a 30 point win over H-S this season. They just rolled through their region tournament (which had 1 really good team and some decent teams) by an average margin of victory of 45 points. Of course anything can happen at state and we'll see if I'm right in a couple days.

I'm going with Langdon, but think they will have a challenge in the ship. Was at the Grafton vs Langdon game scouting and it was a close game. Ended at 7, but really was a 2 to 3 point game. Langdon shot free throws at the end. Also, I believe Grafton didn't make a 3 pointer that game. I would say they average about 5 to 6 if not more 3 pointers a game.

1. Grafton
2. Langdon Area
3. LaMoureLM
4. Trenton
5. Central Cass
6. Rugby
7. Hettinger-Scranton
8. Shiloh

*Screw Shiloh. That's why I picked them 8th.
*If H-S can knock off Langdon in the first round, or CC/ LLM in the second - hey - more power to them. For now, it looks like 7th is appropriate.
*Rugby probably deserves better than 6th with a talented team and good coaching, but that's where they fall, I think. The 5 seeded teams will be tough to topple.
*I'm giving Trenton a lock in the first round game, and then getting outgunned their next couple games. Prove me wrong, ladies!
*CC vs. LLM - I can't wait to watch this one. Central Cass is obviously playing well, but so is LLM. Flip a coin, I think, but I'm going with LLM because I'm just not that excited to root for CC.
*A Grafton/ Langdon final would be a great game. Langdon has a great team (we knew players would come from miles around (re: Coooperstown comment) when the co-op formed, so no new news here), but I think Grafton has a more complete team, with more depth and perhaps a coaching edge. I'm giving Sieben's crew the nod in this one.

this Tournament will be much more interesting than people think it will be....it will boil down to Speed and Coaching strategy......I don't know anything about a couple of teams (Rugby or Trenton) but I do know if you made it here and and you haven't lost, it means your well Coached and you don't like losing....like I've stated before, when a whole County and then some go to one School, they better have some stellar programs in anything they compete in...with that said I think anyone is beatable....which will also be the case with the Boys Class A & B this season....foresight is 20/20 in 2020 :)
If you can’t excel with talent, triumph with effort.
