Who are your teams in each region?

R1 - Kindred
R2 - Grafton or Midway-Minto
R3 - Kidder County or Carrington
R4 - Langdon-Edmore-Munich
R5 - Flasher, Grant County, Shiloh Christian, Underwood
R6 - Rugby, or Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood
R7 - Heart River or Beach
R8 - Trenton

Just curious why you don't have Thompson in the mix for Region 2? Midway-Minto has a good team, but who have they played so far this year to be getting so much credit?

It should be Grafton & Thompson with M-M being the 'sleeper' team...IMO

My bad I forgot to include Thompson.

R1 - Kindred
R2 - Grafton
R3 - Carrington
R4 - Langdon-Edmore-Munich
R5 - Grant County?
R6 - Rugby
R7 - Beach
R8 - Trenton

Kindred, Langdon-Edmore-Munich and Trenton are the only picks I'm confident in at this moment. The other regions, especially 5 seem to have a lot of parity this year.

I think Grafton is a bigger favorite than Kindred or LEM. I know Trenton is really good, I just don't know about any other teams in that region.

Grafton lost to Kindred and tonight they lost to Langdon in a close game. Kindred is going to roll to another State B Championship unless lighting strikes and a team shoots the lights out. Hard to create a lighting storm over 6' guards.

Langdon matches up well with Kindred - that's my state championship game

I'm not saying Grafton is better than Kindred or LEM. What I'm saying is they are more likely to win their region than Kindred or LEM.

I agree Kindred vs Langdon/Edmore/Munich if they meet in the state should be very good match up. Langdon has the size to match up with Kindred I believe and overall they are both equally quick as teams. Don't look at LEM height descriptions because I believe their height is understated a bit across the board but they do start 4 girls above 5-10 and they are deeper team than were last year at state. Also they have played very competitive schedule this year against the following Carrington, Thompson, Grafton, Hettinger-Scranton, Fourwinds, Kidder County, Shiloh, and Velva. Also there is always seems like team that peaks in the state tournament so you never know who might win the state.

I agree! They both have played some challenging schedules this year and it's the match up people want to see.

Personally, I'm hoping for a Kindred vs. Trenton championship.

2 potentially undefeated teams
East (R1) vs. West (R8) matchup
Large school vs. small school - according to the Miss Hoopster, Kindred's enrollment is 315 and Trenton's is 89
And it would feature 2 exciting, talented players in Abby Duchscherer and Kaity Hove

Nothing against any of the other teams, I just think this would be a fun championship matchup. It probably won't happen though as Trenton will have a hard time moving above the #4 seed.

I got 211 for Kindred 9-12.

Trenton has experience, they returned everyone from a team that went to state last year, but I think it would be an upset if they beat Kindred, Langdon, or Grafton.

Kindred is roughly 220 (9-12)...300+ (7-12).

Grafton is larger than Kindred by enrollment numbers.

Thank you for the correction regarding Kindred's enrollment number. I thought that number seemed high as I hadn't heard anything about them moving up to Class A. I love the Hoopster publications, but I know they aren't inerrant.

that's what I always use. There is a file you can download and it has all the public schools and there enrollment by class.

I don't get all worked up about numbers of kids in school because you only play with 5 on the floor.
But Kindred will be there for a few more years. Their core group of kids are Freshmen and Sophomores.

Especially in girls athletics, it's not unusual for 7th graders to be active participants in varsity sports.
