Saw this on the boy's side, interested in who people think the best teams will be on the girl's side next season.

R1 - Kindred, very likely to be the favorite the next 4 years.
R2 - Thompson is the favorite. Grafton will be solid.

R1: Oak Grove & Enderlin should also contend as they return most of their teams; yes Kindred is the favorite

R3 - Most of the top teams lost key players to graduation. I think the top two teams at the end of the season will be Carrington and EKM. Carrington will have a well-rounded starting five, but the bench will be weak compared to this season. EKM returns the best player in the region, but I am not sure how much help she will have. MPB returns two solid players, but not much else. LLM and Oakes will be a year behind IMO.

Region 6:
1. Rugby brings back some quality athletes
2. Velva - always tough
3. Ryan - Passa arguably best player in region
4. MLS - Nearly entire team back from 3rd place team last year; lack depth
5. DLB - Only lose one senior, though a good one.
6. Berthold - bring just about everyonce back
7. Bottineau
8. Westhope/Newburg- some good up and coming players in Blada, Thompson, and Braaten.

Region 8 will be a lot different this year with Watford City moving up to Class A.

I expect Trenton to take the biggest step forward with all of their players returning from last year. Mandaree came on strong at the end of last season, making it all the way to the Region championship game. New Town will always have a good team as well.

1. Trenton
2. New Town
3. Mandaree
4. Divide County
5. Powers Lake
6. Parshall
7. Stanley

In region 6, Velva should be the top team with Rugby close behind.
Velva is getting a couple new players moving to town this year with one of them being one of the top players in the state.
Then I would go DLB, Mohall, Berthold, Glenburn, minot Ryan.
I have Ryan down as they are losing some key players, including the Passa's.

LEM still has some solid pieces that I assume will keep them on top, but what about the rest of region 4? This region has had some really good teams at the top the last few years, but it's been weaker after the top 2-3 teams IMO.

I think Region 4 will be down a bit this year. A lot of young teams that still need a couple years. FWM should be the top team in District 7.

I'm thinking region 8 is going to be between Trenton parshall manderee...Trenton returns everyone and will be s tough team Bob has his teams ready to play...parshall lost 2 or 3 girls but return alot along with fox girl transferring from garrison...manderee returns serdahl flying horse and a couple good guards that will make them tough

My Predictions:
Region 1: Kindred (Huge gap to the 2nd best team)
Region 2: Thompson, Grafton
Region 3: Carrington, Oakes, LaMoure-LM
Region 4: Langdon/Edmore/Munich, North Star
Region 5: Shiloh Christian (also think there is a huge gap here)
Region 6: Rugby, Velva
Region 7: Hettinger-Scranton, Dickinson Trinity, Bowman County, Heart River
Region 8: Trenton, Stanley (there are others...I just don't know this region that well)

I know this is not the right topic, but is the season schedule and results for girls and boys basketball going to be posted on ndpreps? Maybe I missed something. Haven't been on in awhile.

Schedules/Results: www.northdakota-scores.net

Standings may find it's way on to here as the season progresses. I don't have the time to post here and on that site as I'm doing ND & MN winter sports scores.

and Kindred is missing a key piece to the team for about 4 more weeks is my understanding. But they are really young so you never know if an experienced group of seniors can get them in a close game.

HCV has NEVER beaten KINDRED...also I cannot get on the Kindred is really young bandwagon, AD has been playing since she was a 7th grader and starting for 2 years. The two other 9th graders played major, major minutes last year. Kindred is one of the favorites to play in the state championship, a middle of the road team from a weak region shouldn't give them a game. I thought it played out exactly how it should have.

I don’t see Kindred having a close game in Region 1 this year. They’ll have some good non-Region games vs Grafton, Thompson, DGF & Barnesville

Well they are. 13-15 yr old girls are young. Yes they have been in big games but they have not matured mentally. Boy trouble, friend trouble, grades or just mad at a comment the coach or parent made. That is the thing with young girls or boys. If someone puts as much pressure on them as they put on other teams.... they will be in trouble.
