Has anyone won both VB and basketball SAOY? I can see Holen doing it this year.

I know almost nothing about the Class A girls, but for Class B, I see Anna Holen as the favorite for SAY. As for Miss Basketball, I would think she would be the favorite from the Class B ranks, but again, I don't know about any possible Class A candidates.

Agree Anna Holen is the favorite, but would not mind seeing Stephanie Miller getting it. She is a threat on both ends and was a huge part of North Star's success the last three seasons.

I thought it was a definite snub last year when Stephanie Miller didn't make all-state. It can't have happened too often that someone doesn't make all-state as a Junior and then is a finalist for Miss Basketball the next year.

1998 Lora Schauer wasn't All State. 1999 She was Miss Basketball

Eli Benz wasn't All-State in 2009, but was Miss Basketball the next year.

Snub or not, there are only 15 (plus ties) who make All-State out of upwards of 1500 players in Class B. Then, you start getting into debates over who you remove, and that's not fair, either.

Any idea what Benz and Shauer's stats were as juniors?

Not sure.
Benz was the State Tournament MVP as a junior.
Schauer ended her career with over 1,600 points and 1,000 rebounds. Never played as an 8th grader.
