Day 1:
LEM vs Thompson
Rugby vs Killdeer
MPB vs Watford
Kindred vs Grant County

Day 2:
Thompson vs Killdeer
Watford vs Grant County
LEM vs Rugby
MPB vs Kindred

Day 3:
Killdeer vs Watford
Grant County vs Thompson
Rugby vs Kindred
MPB vs LEM

Some of these were very hard to pick. Hopefully it is a very competitive state tournament. Good luck to all teams. Small town State B just like it should be.

Would be neat for MPB to go all the way and win since Medina has never been to state and Pingree Buchanan hasn't been there since the 90's. It's possible, but I don't expect their road to championship night will be easy. Alot of very talented teams. Best of luck to all!

After correctly predicting all 8 Region championship games, I don't dare make any picks for this year's state tournament. This year's field feels very different from year's past. No Bishop Ryan, no North Star, not a single private school and no clear-cut favorite heading into the tournament. Of the three teams returning from state last year (Kindred, Grant County and Watford City), none of them are seeded higher than #4. The way the bracket sets up, the #1 seed Medina/Pingree-Buchanan will have to beat two of these teams just to get to the championship game. That's a lot to ask of a team that's never been on this stage before. I expect a competitive tournament and better crowds than the last 2 years with everyone within a reasonable driving distance except for Kindred.

No one is predicting much from LEM, but I think they are peaking at the right time from early lopsided losses in the season. It seems their defense is playing tough, holding a couple region opponents to under 20 points in a game. Haven't seen them play, but just by watching scores the last month they could be an under the radar team that may win it all.

Excited to see how this "old fashioned" class B tournament turns out. Saw an article from Midco Sports from last fall that predicted the top 10 teams in the state and 8 of those teams are in this year's state tournament. That is amazing considering the number of good teams in the state this past year. I am anxious to see how GC does as I think they are being overlooked. They lost one of their best players (from what I saw I think she is the best) for most of the season; during this time is when they lost 4 of their season 5 losses. They return all but one player from last year and have a good bench with a lot of playing time. I think the winner of this year's tournament is a tossup with all the good teams. Can't wait to watch!

Just does not feel like a class B state tournament without Fargo, Bismarck, Minot or Dickinson participating..

Dang near spit my coffee on the computer. Thanks for laugh.

As long as there isn't a calf on the ground, the Mrs. and I are headed to make a day of it. Really looking forward to watching the games in the Dome. My favorite place for a State B tournament.

Haven't watched any of these teams so I am taking a shot in the dark here. Rugby shows up to play and notches the state championship.

Killdeer is not getting a lot of love on the picks for the tourney, but they are the champions of Region 7 which had the second highest computer ranking as a region, behind only Region 3. I think they are battle tested and could make some serious noise in the tournament.

Langdon/EM over Thompson
Rugby over Killdeer
Medina/PB over Watford City
Grant County over Kindred

Rugby over Langdon/EM
Grant County over Medina/PB

Grant County over Rugby 51-48 for the title.
This team has the tournament experience, toughness and senior leadership to win it all. If somehow Kindred beats them Medina wins it.

Looks to me like you could throw Killdeer in that mix as well.

Still a lot of game left but killdeer looks good.

Congrats to Thompson. Played a clean defensive game.

I think it’s more of a overrated thing vs upsets. This years gonna be a tough one to call other than Medina. We should see some really good games tomorrow too, today has been a lot of fun to watch.

Thought her and-ones were legit. Was very impressed with her ability to finish through contact. Easily best game of the day.
