Agree that Minot wins running away...home advantage is big.

I also think there will be plenty of interest in Minot's run...TV viewership will be very good, but the tourney itself will be poorly attended.

I think attendance should be good. There will be a lot of interest in watching Ryan, and the schools representing this year are from larger communities. I think the smallest are Lamoure-LM and Parshall, and they should be excited to be there. If Carrington and Watford City would have won, it would have been all relatively big Class B communities.

Well, attendance has been going down pretty much yr after yr, and i think with good HD tv coverage, live attendance will continue to go down, but tv ratings, if they keep them, will be up. IMO........more people have more options of things to do, and most communities are not as close knit as they use to be.

I will almost guarantee that Lamoure will bring a good following to the State B. As for other teams, who knows? Also I enjoyed Heimer's comment about the small town tournament!

Parshall will be represented well this is first time is school history the girl's basketball team has made it to state. Minot is only an hour away and Parshall will have the backing of the entire Fort Berthold Indian Reservation.

I know its a home game for the western teams, but Im sure that the eastern regions will do just fine and will support each others if it goes that way. Regions 1 and 2 have been kicking each others heads in for a long time but respect each other. We all know there is really only one way to silence the crowd and thats to win with authority.

Bishop Ryan's closest game is likely the first round game with Shiloh. After that I don't see a single team that could keep things close.

My Thoughts
Parshall over Kindred
Lakota/Edmore over LaMoure-LM
Bishop Ryan over Shiloh Christian
Thompson over Dickinson Trinity

Kindred over LaMoure-LM
Shiloh Christian over Dickinson Trinity
Lakota/Edmore over Parshall
Bishop Ryan over Thompson

7th: LaMoure-LM over Dickinson Trinity
5th: Shiloh Christian over Kindred
3rd: Parshall over Thompson
Champ: Bishop Ryan over Lakota/Edmore

Sleepy...should be all first round games on TV then Championship Semis on Friday night and 3rd/Champ on Saturday night...like usual.

I wish I knew more about Parshall so I could get a handle on the first round game with Kindred. Its the only first round game that I think has a chance of being different. Seems like it may come down to a few one horse teams, one two horse team, and one team with a deep bench full of a bunch of athletes

I am not completely sure, but I thought Kindred liked to push it up the court , and if that is true, Ryan will run faster than them and so that is why I have a wider point spread than the other games.

Hmmmmm! you lost me there. You're from the west, not completely sure, but you know that two bigs will run the court faster than a track team in kindred. Hmmmm! That explains it!

I didn't mean the East wouldn't have supporters. Just was addressing those that think it will be poorly attended. Small towns will represent for sure its once in a life time. Think for all teams will be a great showing.

I see there's yet another thread started to celebrate and opine about the individuals. For those of you like me who are wondering if there are any teams in the tourney, it would be kinda nice to know the breakdown of the teams. Would anyone be interested enough to lay out the case for the different teams, primarily those seeded or placed 2-9. Nothing against the 1 seed but they have their own threads and have been celebrated and analyzed to death. I admit my ignorance concerning several teams especially from the west. Please feel free to fill me in.

very good point BigCat, i'm new to this site, so i will set back and watch for a bit. But, i 100% agree with the post about "Yep, great small town tournament" sad that private schools over take what the meaning of class"b" is intended for. But i see that has been beat to death also.

Not a lot of top teams, to be sure. FCT twice, Maple Valley twice, Park River, Sargent Central.

Thompson game was good until we(kindred) pulled ahead in the beginning of 4th, we hit alot of 3's then. They couldn't handle the full court pressure in the second half, but Thompson is a very good team, differently wouldn't sleep on them at state(if they wouldn't had missed so bunny shots, they would have beat us). Otherwise i only made 2 other games, and both blow outs. Kindred has a deep bench which is good for the fast pace game they play. But I think we match up good with Parshall and we can tire them out at the end. Both quality teams. I just know if Kindred meets Ryan, Ryan wouldn't keep up with the pace, no way can the big keep up with the speed, but i think Thompson might give Ryan a run for their money, because they have speed too, and a athletic person that can go up with the big's. , just a fyi, my niece is friends with shaice marx through track and bball camps, so i do keep up on her games too. Since i read that people have to fully disclose what they do(which i don't see the need or point for that, since this about the players and teams, not us). Kingjames, you have any insight on Parshall or Dickinson Trinity? rest of them pretty straight forward.

Kindred is a top team to be sure. But I disagree that they didn't beat top teams. FCT took them to the end pretty much in both games. I would have liked to watched at least one of game's played with different officials. Both game's had 2/3 that were the same. Not saying that was the reason just would have been nice

I don't have any insight on those teams. Saw Minot Ryan once Thompson 3 times Lakota 3 times Shiloh 2 times. I will go with Kindred Lakota Minot Ryan Thompson day 1. Lakota by 3 Thompson by 2 on day 2. Why I pick that I have no clue  I hate getting on the wagon if everybody is already on. Thompson plays good defense but miss a lot of easy shots n can run the floor well if needed n that would be the factors if they win. Lakota well I guess when Fallyn is on she's on when she is off she is still better than most good players n the casting teammates do play good defense along with trying to double n even triple team she sees court so well that she finds open players immediately. If u single her up she burns u even most double teams got burned. Putting a chaser on her did no justice. She is a solid player. Minot is the horse everybody is talking about but I've been to 32 state tournaments between class B n class A boys n girls. It's March Madness upsets will happen in ones eyes n others say I expected that n that's why it's so much fun too watch these teams n individuals play their hearts out n leave it all on the court. Win or lose they are all winners at this point. Good Luck to all!!!!!!
