So much for my prognostication abilities! Congrats to Beach, hope the other 3 games are as good as this one was.

Well that shoots the heck out of my bracket, I don't know what happened to Thompson, but whatever Beach did to keep Weber out of the game worked. I still think Thompson is a better team, but that is why they play the games.........I thought only 2 teams had a good or reasonable chance to beat Ryan, and Thompson was one of them, the other is Lakota Edmore.

Well there goes everyone's predictions including mine! Beach takes down Thompson.. Thompson has no transition defense at all! 39 to 15 was the scoring in the second half in favor of Beach, if my math is correct!

well I never liked Thompson first round draw (credit to Beach). I thought Beach was at least 4th or 5th best coming into the tourney. Thompson has no struggled in VB & BB as being the #2 seed and playing early (lost both now)...BB was at least in their grasps and they let it get away.

Thompson didn't play their best ball in that game...saw things in the game today that I didn't see during the season.

Looks like everyone out east wrote off the 'western west!' Beach proved we play ball out here. I give my nod to Watford City also! Go Wolves!

this is exactly what should happen...I got L-E beating Ryan but they'll have to play flawlessly ...I say Thompson get derailed before ship night

Does anyone besides me notice during all the tourneys, that any close call or non call seems to go in favor of the team behind, especially as the game spread gets bigger? Just something I seemed to notice more in the last year or two, maybe always been that way, or maybe I am imagining :)

everything went according to plan as far as I thought...way back at the 'shootout on the prairie' at the beginning of the season I said Thompson had no clothes (like the emperor)...and I put it down to very questionable calls at the tourney in the game between parshall and Thompson...the lady braves had Thompson on the ropes so what happens??? 6'2" Cheyenne Packineau on the bench with 4 fouls midway through the 2nd quarter...cant have them girls beating our little darlings from the east....and I knew Watford would perform as poorly as they did...they got lucky and drew good refs during the regional finals...there was a reason why watford finished 3rd in the districts...

Other than Bishop Ryan winning(huge favorite), this tourney is unpredictable apparently........I really thought Thompson would come out today and win by 25-30pts........Kidder didn't show much at all yesterday, and I thought going in Thompson was as good or better than Shiloh..........Shiloh should beat Beach and Bishop Ryan beat Shiloh by 34 pts earlier this yr.

Bishop Ryan def. Thompson 60-45 earlier this year...I think you mean Shiloh instead of Thompson?

I think the Class B GBB coverage this year has not done the class B game any justice whatsoever. You can literally sense the basketball burn out by the lead announcers. The color commentating by Jill at times is insightful--other times, repetitive.

The lead announcers struggle with reality. And always mess up their facts. Seriously--quit comparing Beach's run in the opening first round game (which they won) with Central Cass cutting Minot Ryan's lead to 15pts. Beach actually TOOK THE LEAD. Bring back Timmerman. He is a fountain of ND basketball / sports knowledge.

Mike Elm works for a totally different TV station in Minot. Seeing him to interviews the past two weeks is odd--especially when he has to look up to the 6'2" girls from Ryan in interviews.

The Fargo Dome is not the venue for hosting the state GBB tourney. The main camera is TOO FAR AWAY! The HD is nice but the game just seems too distant. Terrible place to play it & the crowd seems very small.

Cant wait for tonight's three keys to the championship game (which we will see like 5 times). Battle of the private schools.

Minot Ryan's Keys 1) Find two top notch 6'2" athletic posts to go to your high school & feed them the ball 2) Coach: Stay out of the way. Only job is to get the team to play hard. Bus driver could win state title with this team 3) Talent dominates (Minot Ryan would likely win the ND Girls State A tournament this year & next year with the talent they have.)

Shiloh's Keys 1) Get one more New Town transfer before tip off (crazy how Shiloh has built an all star team from Fort Berthold in boys last few years---and now girls this year. 2) Pressure the heck out of Ryan (Central Cass did that last year--was a good game 3) Attack the hoop & hope refs call everything in your favor. Getting Ryan in foul trouble early is only way you can stick around.

Wow...New Town would have been able to give Minot Ryan a run this year if they would have kept that team together.

And finally, what is up with the TV camera guys under the baskets? Since when can ANYONE recall the need to sit in a plush, soft adjustable chair (all alone under the hoop) to catch the close up action shots? Those boys need to get a little more exercise in if they can't handle that camera!! Surprised the tourney director allows that chair to be there--in the one game, a player took a header into it. Lucky she was ok.

Just a bunch of random thoughts--

Commentary is painful. I thought Lynette Mund did a better job than Devries. Zero excitement or insight from her.

I also liked Lynette's color, especially considering it (I'm guessing) it was her first time. What I don't get is how ABC asked Devries back for Saturday after hearing here Thursday. She is painful to listen to.

Im convinced they really have no clue on who the audience is...the stuff they say over and over is not what B fans really want to hear.

Commentary is SO dry; no excitement whatsoever!!

They get names wrong way too often and don't quite know what's going on in the game

At least Izzo gets excited and brings excitement...I'd take his announcing over this (even if he's yelling in the mic 90% of the time).

I also liked Lynette a lot more, thought she did a nice job. Now before this game goes final it is pretty obvious that the officials aren't going to call the 4th foul on a certain player, two huge missed calls and both were pretty darn obvious in my opinion. So far an exciting game, looking forward to a good finish!
