R1 - Maple Valley
R2 - Thompson
R6 - Bishop Ryan
R8 - New Town

Without doing alot of research...I think these are the teams that return the most for next year.

Region 4 I would have to put Rolla at the top. I believe Midkota was still fairly young but don't know if they will co-op. LAE will still have Freije but I don't know how much help she'll have. BC loses everyone but 1. Northstar loses a few, but still has some good young talent.

Region 4 teams at regionals all the teams loose big pieces of their teams but Benson county i think will be in rebuilding year with onle one Jorgenson girl returning. LAE has 3 starters returning, Carrington has couple starters returning, Northstar has qite a bit returning and would be my favorite out district 8, Rolla has several starters returning, New rockford has most of team returning, Rollette with big freshman girls could become a factor and Midkota should have enough talent returning to be good. My guess these teams will be fun to watch because its going to depend on who puts things together makes run end of next year. The returning talent on these teams are good and will depend on how younger kids develop this next year.

Central Cass - Maple Valley - Fairmont will be at the top end of the region. Central Cass should be the favorite because they still have the size to contain nudell.

side note: I've watched some girls bball in nd this past 3 yrs(got wind of a good player in thompson) and that #10 Shaice Marx is one of the most all around players i've seen in 15 years of scouting. Fundelmentaly sound and has a very cool head on her shoulders. She was only a freshmen last year and a player that did alot of the dirty work(diving after loose balls, flying in on rebounds, ect) and defense, but far best defensive player i've seen(she gave a huge spark to the team and help make the team better overall, the sign of a truely good player). It seemed like the coach held her back a bit on regards to shooting, but that team already had good shooters, and her role was the setup, defense and rebounds for them. You can teach skills, but you can't teach heart and smarts. She is the fastest person on the court, long arms, and can really jump. 14 boards in one state game, 5-7 guard. She is one to watch to explode on the court. P.S what does everyone think of the recruiting thats going on at bishop? kinda low i think, ironic of a Private school.

I have been in ND for a little while, but in that time I bet I have read 15 different articles about these private schools. Why doesn't ND just make up one class of ALL the private schools to compete only against themselves? How many are there anyways?

A student transfers into a parochial school and the word "recruiting" just automatically gets thrown in. Does "recruiting" happen...yes but its not as prevalent as everyone seems to think. A student can transfer for many different reasons...athletics is NOT the only reason.

The NDHSAA wouldn't do that. There are 8 parochial schools: Fargo Shanley, Oak Grove, Shiloh Christian, Bishop Ryan, Our Redeemer's, Dickinson Trinity, Williston Trinity Christian.

it happens in SD alot, a family member that lives with in half hr of the other school and that student transfers to play on a champion team or chance at it. Happens all the time, people just need to wake up to it.

Still have to abide by the NDHSAA rules and sit out a year...Public or Private. The only way a player should be eligible right away is if they get up and move and live in the city the school resides in.

Now as to the South Dakota situation, they have different transfer rules then ND does. In SD I believe you can transfer 1 time and back to your original school without having to sit out, after that I think it's only like 45 days you have to sit out in SD.

That's only seven...

We are still waiting for the explanation of your allegation against Bishop Ryan. I know many parents of players there, so I would love to read hour explanation and find out exactly what happened.

Haha another ridiculous recruiting accusation with not even a decent story to make up. Bishop Ryan hasn't had anyone transfer in since Hannah Stewart back when she was an 8th grader and moved here from Washington because her father took the Minot State job.

The board has discussed the private schools and their coaching budget: Minot Bishop Ryan must have deep pockets and some scouts out recruiting in Washington.
As balla 45 and Indy5 point out, how about an explanation of the alleged recruiting.

has anybody heard of the Kansas jayhawks? They will find a position in the school or in the town and have their family move up. It does happen alot more than you realize.

So Radball,
I can only assume you are talking about Hannah Stewart since Indy 5 said the only person to come to Ryan on the team was her?
If so, I believe the case was made for her dad, who was at Minot State University for 2 seasons. I now have to (man)ume that you are talking about her mother and Head Girls Coach Julie (Wald) Stewart. Coach Julie Stewart is one of nine brothers and sisters that attended Bishop Ryan High School. I would guess the family (Coach Stewart and Coach Stewart) moved their family from Washington? to take a hi paying position at the Private Bishop Ryan High School? Maybe it was the wonderful landscape they moved back to or just enjoy the weather so much more in MINOT ND.
Maybe some more details Rad?
