bottom half of the bracket seems stacked, I don't know anything about BC, but obviously have the nice record.

Tough to know how they stack up against the rest of the competition as I have not seen any teams from outside Region 4 this year. They have 7 girls in the rotation (6 seniors) and there is really no drop off down the line. They play solid D and very smart. Don't get into foul trouble and they don't give the other team extra shots. They have outrebounded every team this year and have 4 players who average over 6 rpg. Two 6' inside that play physical and strong. Plus they came out of a very tough region with 6 very good teams.

Just remember everyone had Trinity winning the boys title, too.....

Central Cass' only loss to a ND team was to Thompson early in the season (lost to Crookston, MN and Barnesville, MN as well). Just curious as to who the other state teams have lost to and what kind of competition they faced during the season?

Ryan has beat Thompson (one of the two losses they have) early in the season and also New Town (the only loss) and again was very early in the season. Both of these games were the first games of the season for Ryan.

New Town has some real athletes that are strong as does Ryan. Have not seen the rest of the teams.

But come tournament time anything can happen as evidenced by the boys State B Tourney and no team should be overlooked at this point.

BC lost to Northstar in OT during the regular season, but avenged the loss in the Dist 8 championship game. Northstar took 3rd in Region 4.

I agree with ndlionsfan, Benson County came out of the hardest region, which had: Lakota- Adams- Edmore, Carrington, North Star, Rolla, and Midkota, thats 6 teams that had the potential to make state.

If LAE made state people would be talking about the first round matchup as potential championship game because they are known from last year and have a star player. BC beat them both times this season. Just because they don't get much press and recognition doesn't mean they aren't a worthy team. Like I said before, everyone had Trinity winning the boys tourney too.

Looks like this will be an interesting state tourney. I am hoping Grant County surprises a few people. Two of their loses, Napoleon and Shiloh, came when they were without their best player. Good luck to all teams! The boys Class B did not turn out as expected so maybe the girls will not either!

IMO - Thompson or Bishop Ryan, whoever wins that matchup (if it happens) wins the tourney. Of course it's the state tourney, you never know, and the common opponent scores this year were quite puzzling when attempting to pick a winner. Thompson, if they just play up to their ability, will surprise everyone with their talent. They are one of the best I've seen this year for sure. Ryan is simply the best from what all the experts tell me, but the best sometimes think they are, and that often can bite you in the you know what.

Some of my thoughts:

Ryan is the obvious favorite.

I think Central Cass would match up best with Ryan because of their size. They're a very solid defensive team, however, not real savvy on the offensive end. If they can keep games in the 40s, I think they can beat anyone...I just don't see them putting big numbers on the board. That makes them vulnerable against anyone and I'm not even going to venture a first round guess against Grant County.

Thompson is incredibly athletic. They can give teams fits by their transition game.

Excited to see what the rest of the west brings to the table. Is there any advantage for Beach, New Town, and Ryan for making a repeat visit?
