Dakota Prarie is having a great year but those losses while Kirstie Gillete was hurt but with her in the line-up they are unstopable they will have a nice inside out game with her and Bobbi Baker. But next year will be they year all they lose is one senior Marlee Engen.

Kenmare managed to stay ahead of Bottineau most of the first quarter last night, but Bottineau started the game with cold shooting. Then early in the second 1/4 Bottineau had a 10-0 run that put them up by 15. Bottineau clung to a 14-17 point lead until midway through the 4th 1/4 when they had another scoring run that put them up by 30. Bottineau won by 29.

Last night was one of the few times this season Bottineau looked beatable at times. Kenmare has a great, young team. The will be a team to watch the next couple of years.

I'm not sure about the Linton Girls' Team. They seem to have a good core but State Tourney time i don't think they'll show up. There isn't anyone really in the region that is going to beat them but it'll be interesting to see how they do at State.

Trinity beat Beulah the other night 58-53.  Beulah is dropping back to class B next year, that will be a real tough district in years to come.  Also Trinity is now 3-1 against class A teams this year.

Bottineau squeezed by MLS (Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood) last night by 39-36 in overtime. MLS was playing without one star player and so was Bottineau. Don't know the impact of the player out of the MLS lineup, but in Bottineau's case it was star player Sara Neubauer, good for 30 points per game.

MLS got ahead by slowing the game down. Bottineau evened it up by responding to that type of play with tighter defense and making the free throws in OT.

Still, even with Neubauer back, MLS is always a tough one for Bottineau to get by. Got beat by a point or two in the regional championship last year.

Who's your pick to come out of that region?

Bottineau--That being said, everyone here remembers Bottineau was the favored team last year as well with an arguably stronger, better balanced team.
And they still lost in the region championship to MLS.

That's what makes tournament time so exciting. That's why we play the games.
:D

I believe that Dakota Prairie needs some respect in the polls they just beat Thompson i hope they get the respect they deserve in the STATE tourney because they could be the team to just bring their game and  beat a Bottineau.

Region 2 may be the toughest in the state this year. As far as next year DP will have their hands full with Midway-Minto who may just win the Region this year as they are playing their best ball right now. They only lose one Senior as well that has significnt playing time. Being a new co-op it takes time to gel as a team and they have found their roles and are really starting to play. They could be better but lost sharp shooter Kristen Alphson to a knee injury for the season early in a 2 point loss at Thompson. M-M already has wins against Hatton-Northwood by 10(1st game of the year), Mayville by 23 and Trinity by 4(in Minot) as well as defeating Drayton-St Thomas who was ranked most of the year twice. They can play an uptempo or slow down game.

Region 2 should be fun to watch this week!

Don't forget about Grafton, they have i think 3 seniors and then the rest are sophmores and freshmen. Only lost too M-M by 2 in district championship game i think and they crushed St. Thomas this year. No doubt region 2 will be fun to watch for the next couple years.
