Sorry everyone! I should've read the line. I received the info from a Grafton players dad who was at the game. I also got too caught up in wondering how the Tommie's could ever allow Grafton to hang around. Selfish play by TT or hot shooting by Grafton. It had to be an anomaly.

Anomaly? Not so much. Grafton has turned themselves around from the very young, rebuilding team they were a year ago. They are now a real threat in Region 2.

Grafton has been doing actually better since the beginning. They are a sleeper in R2

it wasn't hard to figure out they were going to be tough when the current jr crew were freshman
of course I may see them more....I say credit the Coach in their development

I was being fasecious when I said it was an anomaly that Grafton almost beat TT, as I figured there would be an excuse for the small margin of victory. You are correct in that they have improved imensely since the start of the season. Grafton is like many talented teams in Region 1 and 2, it will come down to who can put 4 quarters together at the end of the season.

Would it be far-fetched to say that Region 6 has the best girls' district in the state (12) and the worst girls district in the state (11)? It's kind of sad when the number on team from 11 gets knocked out in the first round of regionals year after year. And in GBB, with all those talented private schools and just close-to-Minot schools, the District 11 winner really doesn't stand much of a chance. Boys' is a different story, but that's beside the point.

I don't think District 12 is the best district as a whole in the state...they have the best team that is all.

District 2 is much better then 12 as a whole with Kindred, Maple Valley & Central Cass...and Region 1 should be quite the tournament with the addition of Sargent Central & Fairmount/CT to the mix.

radball wrote:so you like to hold on to past things? Shiloh clearly was the better team that day, just the refs(which i hate saying refs decide a game) clearly had a previous mind set on that game, the last 5 minutes clearly showed this(5 times in a row, ryan players took over 3 steps while NOT dribbling the ball, humm, isn't that travel? And i recall Hannah clearly fouled 2 players in that same time frame but nothing was call because( in the words of Ryan's coach,,"refs shouldn't take out the best players in the game" which was said on the radio when asked about the refs after the game). Thompson didn't play team ball at state(except one game) and yes maybe i had them a little high at the end, but polls reflect the season as a whole(or am i wrong)

Dag nub it. I have sat and watched some of you try to reason and rationalize what radball hallucinates about in his dribbling dialogue. Swearing under my breath that you have all lost your minds trying to make rhyme or reason? Dang nub it! Swallow, sigh, I have bitten the perverbial bait.i am asking, and am not expecting Radball to now back up his accusation that Bishop Ryan coach Julie Stewart made a comment as quoted above. I am sue an SEC coach would recall where he or she heard the interview.
Can someone compile a list of Radioactive Rad comments?
Dang nub it! I am caught and and add to the list.
Kudos Radbal, you can fish.

It would be nice if facts backed up your post. Ryan played Velva In the semis and Rugby in the championship game in 2012. They then played TGU in the semis and Velva in the championship game in 2013. In 2014 it played TGU in the championship game. Last time I checked those three teams are all from district 11. Also, the second and third best teams in region 6 this year are most likely Rugby and Sawyer both district 11.

Region 1 is classic Class B this year. You have big Class B schools like Kindred and Central Cass, but small schools like Maple Valley, Sargent Central, and FCT are contenders for a trip to State. There is even a private school from a big city in the mix, and one of the all-time leading scorers in the state is trying to lead her team to the State B. It should be a fun tournament to follow.

Who's the "private school from a big city in the mix?" The only private I'm aware of is OG and I believe they've eeked out 5 wins so far. My bad if I'm missing something.

I am simply pointing out that there is one since there has been discussion on whether or not privates should be scheduled among Class B schools.

Okay, I get it! But I will say, the "NDPHSAA aka.North Dakota Public High School Activities Association" does have a nice ring, doesn't it? But I digress and do promise not to start that conversation again!

Was anyone at, or have input on, what happened in the Maple Valley/Richland game? Is Richland a sleeper or was MV missing someone? Need a rub down on what happened.

Maple Valley was missing Von Bank but not to discredit Richland...they are playing really good basketball this year.

Does MV play Sargent Central tonight? Kind of a big game for MV to see if they can bounce back.

MV bounced back quite nicely on Saturday (70-44 win @ H-CV)...but yes MV travels to SC tonight.

I don't think anybody can challenge Ryan, kinda not cool i know but its the truth. Maybe kindred will give them a run if they see them( because they have a decent bench too, and have speed), I though maybe TT too, but their team play has fallen apart, compared to the being of the yr. Regarding state location, Minot?? really, worse place possible.

I would take Minot over Grand Forks or Fargo for state basketball any day. I know there were a ton of problems with state volleyball but I believe those issues will be fixed for a state basketball tournament. If for no other reason the people in charge will care more about a state basketball tournament than they did about a state volleyball tournament.

Minot does a great job for hosting State basketball...been there twice...both times were well done.
