TOP SHOOTERS IN CLASS B

Jeff Smith from Hettinger is the best shooter to come out of the west in a long long time. I believe he'll lead the state in scoreing this year.

Bojan Janic from Bishop Ryan is one of the top in his region, and maybe even the state.

I see in the paper today that Jeff Smith just broke the school scoreing record down there in Hettinger last night, 1,906 points. Beating John butterfileds record of 1,884.  Smith had 33 pts in the loss to South Heart, I believe he is averaging 30 pts a game.

Yes Voth does have a nice stroke, and the way he gets off the ground with that jumper it's very hard to stop.

Bachmeier is a tremendous player.  Almost every A coach in Bismarck has tried to get him to come to their school, but he decided to stick with Shiloh and try to win a title in Class B.

Tivis is an excellent shooter from any where on the court. He is defineltly up their.

Tivis is good at scoring points, i dont know about spot shooting, but he is good at manipulating his opponent on the drive. All around i think Bachmeier and Ernst are the best shooters i have seen. Bachmeier has a tough fade away and can spot up. Ernst has a huge advantage over pretty much anyone who guards him being he is 6'4. He can spot up or take you off the dribble and pull up for a J.

I agree with bballis, i think tivis is an excellent shooter. He can score from almost anywhere on the court. Ryan Ernst and Jaden Voth are also excellent shooters. Its really hard to say who is the absolute best.

Yes it is hard to say who is the best, but i dont think voth should b considered as one of the best shooters. He attacks and outleaps everyone, and still doesnt shoot the lights out. Good player, not great shooter.

if voth is not a good shooter, than why is he shooting 60%???

voth i bet has about 40 threes also, everygame i watch he is at least 2/4 or 3/5, i'd take him over any. plus he probably has the nicest looking jumpshot in the state. In the game last night he went 4/4 from the three point line in the first quarter. bad shooting huh? he had 36 in three quarters by the way.

 The topic is Top shooters in class B.  I think it's pointless to offer comparisons, all of the players mentioned are great shooters. 

I don't want to see this thread degenerate into player bashing.  Simply talk about who the better shooters are and leave it at that.

Shooting 60% and not a great shooter bill?? Give the kid a brake,Voth has as pretty a  jump shot as you'll ever see in this state! And Smith, Tivis and Ernst are all fine shooters as well.:D

So far every person you have mentioned has been a good shooter.  All shooters have there nights.  I don't think you can just pick one person, and say they are the best shooter, because they could have a off night, and another kid could have a great night.

Mark Bakkum from Steele-Dawson is a pretty decent shooter who can hit from anywhere on the court.

I'm glad someone mentioned Bakkum but I  have to disagree with you a "little". ;)

 

I think he is a GREAT shooter.  You better be on him way beyond the arc.  (And WOW can he pass the ball.)

Last night at the District 6 Championship Bakkum pulled up at the 3 pt. line fired a three and swish. That's about every shot he takes. He can post up inside and shoot outside. He also has alot of ball sense, when they start to pressure him hard he sees the whole court and gets the ball in the hands of the right man. Next year is his year to shine.

also, Tyler fettig has a pretty decent shot. I mean left-handed, over 6', and shooting the outside jump shot is pretty good. does anyone know where he is going next year?

Florhaug has to be one of the top shooters in the state. The Jamestown Sun alone boasted of him being widely recognized as the "best player of Region 3." I've heard of him cashing in on threes on fast breaks. They say he just spots up from anywhere and it's butter. Is there a way to stop Florhaug? Not when he shoots his fader from even behind the arc.
