Watch out for EKM this year - They are going to make some noise. Very talented team coming back. Bishop Ryan might be ranked a bit high. They lost a lot of talented players from last years team. I'll be intrigued with how Flasher does this year. They bring back one of the best shooters in ND this year and as a team, they shoot the ball well. They lack size but will be a fun team to watch play.

It will be interesting to see how Linton-HMB adjusts to a new coach this season. Wonder if they will run the same system or if the new guy will make major changes.
It will also be interesting to see how South Border adjusts to playing without Schmidt. They ran a lot of their offense through him at the high post last year.
EKM will also be a fun team to watch, good athletes, disciplined and Coach Strobel does a very good job. (One of the most underrated coaches in Class B i think.)

Four teams with Zero losses, countless with one loss, many with 2 & 3..this new class ironed its self out in a hurry and that tells me right there that it was a good Idea...
it would be cool to see a list of all the teams in B and there current record

Linton-HMB falls from the unbeaten ranks after losing to EKM who surprisingly fell out of the rankings this week; Linton will stay in the Top 10 IMO.

W-W lost to Garrison in a top 10 battle
ORCS, MLS, Alexander all take on losses this week.

Use the KMAV site often. Great site and very informative. However, wish they would make an adjustment to their computer ranking formula. Something is amiss in the formula when a team with 4 losses is ranked higher than an undefeated team who has beaten them head-to-head by a substantial margin. IMHO, not sure what formula is used but SOS should not weigh more into the formula than a head-to-head loss. 2 cents.

It's just ranked on RPI & RPI+ (combination of the two classes).

RPI
25% - your win %
50% - opponent's win %
25% - opponent's opponent win %

My website will have a special RPI posted on it later this weekend that goes
35%
30%
25%
cause what you can control should matter more IMO.

**There will also be a power points formula (similar to SD's) as well

There used to be a 'Craig's Ranking' on there in the past...that seems to be gone now; I'd bet things would flip there

Maybe I'm missing something--- but how does a team that has lost 8 games rank higher with SOS than an undefeated or nearly undefeated team? Is it just natural that if you have lost that many games your schedule was harder (for that particular team) than a team that won all theirs? All matter of perspective I guess. (referencing the Craig Keating Link) I'm looking for any insight into making those rankings make sense. Too many teams sitting above teams they have already lost too.
Thank you in advance.

Strength of Schedule is just that the winning percentage of their opponents.

Westhope-Newburg (11-0) Schedule
Tioga 3-7
K-B 5-3
Nedrose 2-9
TMCHS 2-7
Hazen 5-5
PL-BC 7-4
ORCS 7-4
Velva 1-8
Berthold 1-9
Bottineau 7-5
D-A 2-11

TOTAL: 42-72 (.368)

Velva (1-8) Schedule
Des Lacs-Burlington 9-2
Bottineau 7-5
Garrison 11-2
K-B 5-3
North Prairie 6-5
St. John 3-9
M-L-S 7-2
Westhope-Newburg 11-0
Bishop Ryan 10-1

TOTAL: 69-29 (.704)

By looking at this as this falls into your questioning on a 8-loss team ahead of an undefeated team.

Velva opponents are 69-29 combined whereas Westhope-Newburg opponents are 42-72 combined
Velva has already played the top 3 teams in the region plus Garrison...those teams are 39-5 combined which bumps the strength drastically whereas Westhope-Newburg has already played the 3 bottom region teams combined at 4-28 plus Nedrose & TMCHS who don't have many wins either.
