Since this topic has nothing really to do with the polls, lets discuss it on here. Obviously some people think the top 8 teams in Region 1 could beat the best team in Region 3. I guess they also think Region 3 is the weakest.

i dunno.....that 75 years that radar was talkin about is pretty impressive.  11 titles or whatever in 70+ years.....that makes that regoin by far the best in the state and whoever comes from that region wins it all and could probably run the class A table.

I don't think that is entirely true but i think that either lisbon or hankinson would put up a great game against linton.  i think all of our athletes are pretty evenly matched judging by the way they looked when we played them this year in football.

I can agree with Lisbon and Hankinson but the way radar was talking he thinks Oak Grove can beat anyone because they won state in 1942.......

I don't agree with that Oak Grove lost to us by 20 some points i think it was.  If they can beat Linton, then Linton doesn't have the athletes i thought they did

We scrimmaged Central Cass prior to the start of the season and i beleive they are better then what most people think.  It could of been just that day that they were playing good but they have also beat Kindred who is a very tough team in my mind.  So i think Central Cass is easily one of the top 8 teams in the region.

Radar said Region 1 had 8 state titles since 1933. I took a more recent approach and found out the last 23 state title winners. The regions are listen in order from most state titles to least state titles.

Region 2- 8 State Titles

Region 4- 5 State Titles

Region 3- 3 State Titles

Region 7- 2 State Titles

Region 6- 2 State Titles

Region 8- 1 State Title

Region 5- 1 State Title

REGION 1- 1 STATE TITLE

Nice to see the "Powerhouse" region in the state has 1 state title to show over the past 23 winners. That was Oak Grove in 1999-2000.

Those facts are compiled from the Hoopster.

I think that would be right maybe Oak Grove not being in there but I guess its possible that we just played them on the right night for us

here is region 1 versus region 3...basically region 1 has yet to play a team from district 6 yet and have played four teams from district 5. of the region 1 teams listed, four have yet to play a region 3 team completely. take what you want from the information...thought i would throw it out there.

hankinson - has yet to play a region 3 team

lisbon - beat lmm 57-37, beat lamoure 51-42

north sargent - beat ellendale 70-47, lost to lamoure 48-28

kindred - has yet to play region 3 team

central cass - beat lmm 66-61

oak grove - has yet to play region 3 team

fshp - beat bcn 48-44

northern cass - has yet to play region 3 team

with the dunn kid not wearing a cast they are supposively a lot better than with him wearing one. haven't seen them play in two years, so i have no real frame of reference though.

I played em' last year and Dunn was their "go-to" guy..ended up with around 25 pts. They were decent last we played em'...hopefully we meet em' again this year to see if the unthinkable could happen....a region 3 team beating a region 1

northern cass, central cass, fhsp, kindred and sargent central are all average teams no better maybe a little worse. come on people i don't want to diss these teams but one stupid comment has made everyone crazy. it seems like district 2 dominates district 2 at regionals every season.

BCN had a pritty good showing there at the first round. I dont know how they have done so far this year in the regular season. Cant say the same for LMM. Hopefully they show up this time and we get to see a good game the last night of round 2 at the barns county tourny.
