For those of you hung up on stats do remember one more stat. Class A games are 4 minutes longer than class b. Would some of the ppg be closer to the same with all the same minutes. Now the class b kids had plenty of running clock games so stats can be what you make them.

Are these career averages or just the 21-22 season averages?

I am curious why he never put in the Block Stats and why only the spg for Brandt?

I am sure they all averaged at least 1 spg Yankton probably had 2per game ..or more. I know Joe probably averaged 1.5 bpg and probably 1 spg
and as far as minutes goes... who had the most time on the floor to get those stats?
1 more though..IF 4WM and Kindred get to the Championship...and Kindred beats them..does that lower Yanktons odds.??

I don't think it would do anything to Yankton's odds. In the past they used to vote after day one of the Boys B. It may have changed...

I'm going to guess that Eaglestaff wins it. Just a hunch on my part.

These are the stats that were sent to the media from coaches…he and other NDAPSSA members tweeted all this out last night. Usually the best numbers are sent…How many schools keep track of minutes?

EDC schools (probably WDA too) have Hudl do stats, which keeps track of minutes played, but from what I've heard they don't do a great job keeping track of minutes played.

Region 1 does as well...but you are at the whim of whoever does those stats and how accurate they are.

Hudl is nice cause that capability is there along with endless amounts of stats off the video.

the way Olson (Kindred) has been playing the last 2 years...he has been a MAJOR leader on that team...very impressive at Regionals and even better at state. The kid is very gifted...Infact I think if it were not for him, they might not have won last nights game. Haven't heard anyone speak of him, I think he deserves some recognition.

Completely agree on Paul Olson but he seems to be the type of kid who doesn’t care about individual stats. As long as his team has one more point at the end of the night every game he’s good. From what I’ve seen so far at state he’s the most complete player in the tourney.

Congrats to Treysen Eaglestaff! Too bad the NDHSAA won't let them televise the award at the end of the tournament like they used to. I also wish they would introduce all of the Region Senior Athletes of the Year and let them come down and be recognized before they announce the winner.

Agreed...I thought I missed it somehow.... when did they change this?

So Eaglestaff gets ND MBB and Brandt gets Powerade SAOTY.. Good for them

Agreed. Even if they didn't have each of them come to center court, at least announce the winners from each region.

Maybe if they cancelled just 1 of their 400 tv timeouts, they would have some time left to actually honor the student/athletes who are the reason the games are on in the first place. :!:

I for one love the Parade of Champions, which does honor student/athletes. But seriously, there should be plenty of time at the end of the championship game announcements to recognize all the SAOY candidates.

Felt like I saw more commercials then actual game action…commercials every 5 minutes is ridiculous!

Think about this: an NCAA game is 40 minutes long and they have 8 TV timeouts. A class B game is 32 minutes and they have 10 TV timeouts.

I agree. I don't believe there were this many TV timeouts when NBC had the rights. It really messes with the flow of the game.

But the game is about the teams and the kids right? Who cares about the flow as long as there is another dollar to be made!!! I don't know exactly when it changed to 2 tv timeouts per quarter but it used to be only 1 per quarter around the 4 minute mark. Now it is after the 5:30 point and the 3:00 mark. 2 1/2 whole minutes and then they need to run another commercial. Terrible!!!
