i'm not positive on these pairings...i haven't seen the official pairings, but here is what i've heard:

(1) carrington vs. (8) tappen, 3 p.m.

(4) midkota vs. (5) kulm, 4:30 p.m.

(2) lamoure vs. (7) central prairie, 6 p.m.

(3) steele-dawson vs. (6) pingre-buchanan-kensal, 7:30 p.m.

If that is the correct bracket, I think carrington and lamoure will be in the championship game. Lamoure has too many talented kids compared to steele-dawson. Championship game could be a wash as it depends if the lamoure team starts to turn things around.

Lamoure is highly overrated, they were losing to tappen at the end of the third quarter, they only won by 11!  The game was close the whole time, Lamoure is very overrated!

Yes, Lamoure at this point in the season my be overrated, but when when you look at what the returned from last years team, along with their new additions, they are probably the most talented team in region 3. Not saying that they should have gotten beat in 3 quarters to tappen or anything but, anyone who has played in that gym, knows it isnt exactly the easiest place to play in. Teams are not able to spread the floor like they usually do in larger gyms. I will say though that I was amazed that Barnick had 34 pts, which when I've seen him play, I was never impressed as he would have around 6-8 pts.

Barnick is a heck of a player he could torch any given team for 30 any night. The problem is that there isn't much talent surrounding him.

ive never seen Barnick score more then 12-15 in a single game.  it would take him to get his fair share of shots to score 34 but the boxscore dont lie.  i jsut wish they had how many shot attempts he had in there.

um... if he is a heck of a player, he should be scoring 20+ a night easy with no talent surrounding him.

ok...30 might have been an exaduration but what I meant to say is that he can score and he is by far the best player on his team.

It's not really that insightful to say they are overated. It's old news by now. Also, you are wrong. LaMoure was ahead after 3.

I was at the game, and I admit LaMoure was not ready to play and Tappen was. I give Tappen much credit. They were agressive and a couple kids had big nights.  LaMoure played pretty poor defensively, and Tappen went at them a bit. LaMoure was 12-28 at the line with their best shooters there. That probably won't happen again. LaMoure had North Sargent, a pretty decent team this year, down 43-17 at the half a couple days ago. Looked pretty good.

LaMoure better know that teams will come after them hard. They are pretty inconsistent now, and that is why they are not in the top group of Region 3. But don't count on it staying that way.

The Jamestown Sun article said he had 30 shot attempts.  He made 3 3-pointers.  Don't know how many of his points were free throws though.

tough to say, grager and skadberg didn't look too bad for carrington when they weren't in foul trouble and kulm had absolutely no answer for garrett harding, nor joel anderson for that matter. i think whichever team comes out of the district 7 game should do all right.

i'm not near as familar with carrington's or midkota's players (about the only time i see them is the stutsman usually) as i am with the lamoure and steele-dawson ones, though...i lean toward the winner of the pirate/loboes game taking the tourney title because of that i think.

I wouldn't count out Midkota if they get into the championship round. They have some nice players.

I think Midkota will Carrington in a close one.
I don't know if I practiced more than anybody, but I sure practiced enough. I still wonder if somebody - somewhere - was practicing more than me.

i was really impressed with carrington in the first half...smith was deadly from the far baseline with 15-foot jumpers...skadberg did what he had to and by halftime midkota was more or less out of it.

carrington really dictated everything to midkota...i came away from the game about 8904848485490 times more impressed with them than i was in the tournament opener.

they made a nice run in the second half, but they were down by way to much. garett harding had a nice game, as did ethan stangeland for the mustangs.

steele-dawson and lamoure had all the feel of a region game early on. very slow start and by the second quarter they were going back and fourth.

pirates lead by 6 going into the half and lamoure scores just 2 points in the third quarter. game over.

ah i think randall really shut down brandenberg, i think if lamoure clicks as a team they could be an amazing team but that jsut didnt happen grats to steele and gl to them against carrington

the key matchup in the game i believe was the Stroh/Lang duo shutting down Holen to less then 10 points......just an all around GREAT defensive game for the pirates

Should be a good game on paper, depends on if steele can keep up with carrington and vice versa. I honestly don't see Carrington coming out like they did versus Midkota though.
