Postby maddog1971 » Thu Mar 25, 2021 8:49 am

The way to early poll for next year...... I know Region 1
I am saying Enderlin, Sargent County, Oak Grove, and Kindred. No order yet.

I think Region 4 is a toss up. FWM is definitely the favorite. They lost a ton but have talent coming up as well. Many of the other teams in the region tourney were senior dominant as well. Northstar has a lot coming back and could contend for a title.

don't take it as "I hope they do" just a prediction
close to two major US Interstates and the biggest far northern mid-west Metropolis
and a Private School in the Metropolitan
all teams well Coached and for the most part good Numbers up and coming to at least half of the teams in the Region...
Things are changing fast in ND Sports, especially around the Metros

complacency, and hope, and making sure everyone gets in the game will find a team "out of the picture"

R6 - There is some decent individual talent coming back, who know if it will be enough to carry teams missing a few pieces...but no really stand out teams other than Ryan's this years Soph class. By March next year I'd think they will be the team to beat. Maybe a Surrey comes together in D12???

Velva or Botno out of D11???

No clear favorite I can see---truly wide open w/ another 6 teams that could put a run together at the right time like this year

Region 7 will come down to Dickinson Trinity and Beulah. I would think Bowman could make a lot of noise as well.

The Class B bedroom communities have already taken over. The last four state titlists (HCV x 2, Thompson, Kindred) all fit this category. Central Cass and Kindred are poised for years of success as long as they stay Class B.

Hillsboro is more than 30 miles from the metro areas.
Is Berthold a Minot bedroom community? How about Max? Granville?
Is New Salem a Bismarck bedroom community? How about Washburn? Steele? (Kidder County).
Is Richardton a Dickinson bedroom community? How about New England?
Is Ray a Williston bedroom community? How about Alexander and Trenton?

Some of us commute to work. Some don’t. Thankfully, travel keeps getting faster, safer and more reliable.

The idea that there’s something wrong with “bedroom communities” in class B is preposterous.

none of those cities has anything near the urban population or the growth rate of the F-WF-Mhd area.

You are only a bedroom community if you win and are successful. Those other towns don't count because they don't make it to the State tournament.

It doesn't matter who they have coming back haha. They are good every single year, they've played in something like 20 of the last 21 region championship games. Number 14 from their team is a freshman this year. Their freshman class is very, very good.

Probably 5 in a row plus if you throw in Region 2. Burb domination coming to a Tourney near you! If you can't make it in Class A Mommy and Daddy move you out of town 15min so you can play ball and win a State Championship.

Actually not really, one has to think of all the variables involved, home costs, where do you want to raise your children etc etc...now lets go thru the entire State of ND....believe me many many Players would play Class A ball if they lived in the "city" or went to a Private.....I know many Ballers since class C, that if they lived in one of the 6 or 7 bigger towns/cities of ND, they would have played on the team barring no Politics or scrutiny and that boils into DNA/work ethic (which has been mentioned) would they Play North Minneapolis or Minnehaha? some would, but less would....thats Basketball, countless HS Ballers don't play Collège Ball and 1 in 1000 College players make the NBA.....and College players are good, real good! and they pull their shorts up higher usually, like Rick Glass said when going down to play Kansas
I've had Class A Parents tell me they wish they had the atmosphere of the B schools Games (but then some class B schools historically have better atmosphere from GYM to GYM and town to town believe me, I know) but they live in the "big city" they like living there for the convenience of less travel and or thats just what they chose...this is irrelevant outside ND and maybe SD, so another reason to cling onto the experience (remember a lot of these parents played Class B ND)....I don't like stop lights, I like Gravel Roads, I wasn't grounded to anywhere per say but everyone chooses a place to live for different reasons and its usually employment or relatives or where your A$$ landed.....

we cant bring back the 70's 80's or even 90's, after that decade the "B" was already really changing and headed to where it is now because of Bigger Farms mainly and less kids in each family....

I enjoy watching Basketball from second grade to NBA ....and to me this years Class B was just as exciting as it was for me in 1975 and had the same feel....

so if there were 4 classes like there is in Football? I would tune into all of them

remember Unfortunately its about Money, land taxes, Public system....and ND is a tight A$$ State and the kids that play or wanna play don't realize the system or the systematics of it all....(unless their parent tell them)....and then still they would say "I don't really Care about all that" because there was a time that stuff wasn't conveyed down....I never Conveyed it....but I knew it....let them enjoy their time at that age.....
If you can’t excel with talent, triumph with effort.

So we have another thread complaining about Class B schools that win....
By the way many people that go to Fargo for jobs that grew up in a small town... want their kids raised in a small town. Some people don't want their kids raised in a big school. I grew never living in a town over 600 people but jobs forced me to live around Fargo. I could not take living in Fargo. Drove me crazy. So yes I started my family 35 mile out of Fargo.
SO.... what other teams are going to be good... Ellendale? Oaks?
I think Sargent County in Region 1 is going to surprise quite a few people next year.

Don’t understand the “not adding much” comment. Enderlin brings back much more than Kindred in experience.
