well...i guess rugby can say they were the #1 team in the state...for all of a week I'd think..until next weeks poll comes out..and I'm still wondering why 4 winds received more 1st place votes but rugby was given the #1 spot.. somebody explain...schedules? Margins of victory?

It's the NDAPSSA's poll...and my guess would be that a voter or two had SJ ahead of FW-M (while voting Rugby #1). A poll is a group of subjective opinions from a group of voters who don't see every team play; they use scores from the websites and opinions from sites like this to formulate their weekly polls.

Shiloh has nothing for Four Winds on the interior but then again almost nobody will. Four Winds by 20.

Well if Enderlin played HN right now it would not be the same game. I say HN by 15. I believe it would be a great game Between them and 4 winds

I say your wrong...I say it goes to the wire...Both Teams Have Improved over the season...
Eagles have 1 last game this Thursday against Kindred in Kindred..If both teams play to their potential that game will go down to the wire.
Eagles are a young team...but have proved to be competitive at the end of the season by coming back from 18 down to Richland... beating a tough CC team... holding off a surging OG team in the 2nd half while they had a shooting drought.

I say Enderlin can play with ANY team in the state..Ive watched plenty of BB this year via youtube, wdayx, BEK, etc etc and I haven't seen any team that makes me think differentlly

Underwood...record looks good, weaker schedule??? Faves in 5??(they are in 5 right??)

Bismarck is the favorite. Bismarck has played a very tough schedule and has lost some close games to really good teams. Underwood, Flasher and New Salem should make Bismarck's path to state a little more difficult than last season.

I agree with Sniper. Shiloh is still the favorite but I think that New Salem, & Underwood make it tougher for Shiloh. I'm not sure if I see Flasher, but we have to wait and see when districts start this weekend, on who is the bigger threat to Shiloh in district 9. Same goes for Underwood in District 10 records don't mean anything, they still win the district though. All in all, the region 5 tourney will be a good one in a few weeks we'll see who comes ready to play when that time comes.

District 9 Championship
Shiloh vs New Salem-Almont

District 10 Championship
Underwood vs Washburn

Region 3 is totally up for grabs, especially District 5, teams 1-7 have been competitive with each other all year, Carrington only has a couple wins on the season and is the #7 team in that District but have played everyone tough, took #1 EKM to OT a couple weeks ago, only losing by 3. EKM lost to a 2 win team in Wyndmere Lidgerwood just last week. Its a balanced Region through and through, I think the hardest to predict as on any given night anyone can win. Going to be some wild games in Jamestown the next couple weeks.

This was their ‘fall away’ game; I also agree that there doesn’t seem to be a CLEAR favorite in R3.

You are spot on when you say Region 3 is up for grabs. EKM and Strasburg-Zeeland are the most talented and deepest teams in the region, but they haven't really stood out so far. S-Z beat LHMB and Kidder County in overtime and could have easily lost both of those games, especially the KC game. I believe it will come down to the match-ups at the regional, so district semi-finals will be pivotal. The 4 out of D6 will not pose a threat, but all 4 teams out of D5 should have a legitimate shot at winning in the region quarterfinals. Whoever comes out of the region will be heavy underdogs at state, and rightfully so.

Coaches vote and #1 thru 5 are seeded the 6, 7, & 8 are drawn randomly. I believe coaches cannot rank their own team, but I may be wrong about that.

That is correct...so they seed the tournament 1-7 and the highest and lowest rank is thrown out.

It will never happen, but I'd like to see them seed it 1-4 and let the 1, 2, and 3 seeds pick their opponent.

Obviously Four Winds is a talented team this year but Region 1 & 2 have some amazing talent. It's too bad only one team gets to go to State. If you think about it those two Regions could have a State Tourney on their own with 6 of the best teams in the state. :D

I'd actually argue that region 4 is the tougher region, 3 teams in the top 10 in the latest poll and two other teams that have been rated or receiving votes at some point during the season.

Region 1 has had their top 6 teams receiving votes at one point this season as well; I won't discredit Region 4 as they do have some very good teams up there.

Region 2 - Thompson handed #1 FW's their only loss of the year + beat New Rockford, HCV rolled over all 4 region 1 teams they played (4 of the top 6 in the region), and HN has only lost to #1 and #5 all year.

Missed Dakota Prairie receiving votes early in the year so there were actually 6 teams in region 4 ranked or receiving votes during the year as well. Won't argue which is the the stronger region but should make for some very interesting regional tournaments
