I don't know whose eyes Linton-HMB has pulled the wool over to still be receiving votes in the poll. They are definitely not a top 10 team and, IMO, not even in the top 3 of a weak Region 3.

Linton-HMB, should win three out of the next four games. Edgeley-Kulm-Montpelier should get past them.

Linton-HMB's final five games:

vs Strasburg-Zeeland (7-3)
vs Underwood (9-2)
@ Ellendale (5-2)
@ New Salem-Almont (10-0)
@ Oakes (6-3)

Big game in District 9 Thursday night in New Salem. The #1 seed more than likely on the line. Shiloh will get them but not by much.

this score does not surprise me...I think somebody had stated Linton had the best Class B player in the State?

I said it, I stand by my statement. I could see other people arguing that he isn't the best, but you'd be hard pressed to convince me he's not in the top 5

I actually couldn't remember who had stated it, I'm not on Preps much anymore, with that said
there are some Dandy players State wide Class B, making it real tough IMO to rate even a top 10...a lot of what makes a player play great is the TEAM that they're on, if the opposing team can't double that player because he is a teammate to 5 solid players, well then he/she will shine brighter....and who would win one on one? well, one can't even argue that unless it really happened...the criteria of "best player in the State" is not who gets voted first team All State, only because they are usually on a great team also, usually! and then with that said, those votes usually get spread across all Regions to be "fair"

like I stated before unbiasedly, 2020 IMO (and again debatable) both classes has one of the best crop of Boys Basketball players the State has seen.....

I think I will agree with the statement that right now there are some really good players in this state and will be for the next few years. I have seen more dunks, great shooting and really athletic kids out there. I am mostly a region 1 and 2 guy but wow is there some talent out there offensively. Not real impressed with anybody playing defense yet.

That's why they play the games. I suspect they won't receive votes next week.

I watched the Kidder County - LInton-HMB game on BEK the other night and I was not impressed with Linton's defense at all. KC had a couple of kids who seemed to get to the basket almost whenever they wanted to. Also, KC played zone defense at times and it really seemed to bother Linton. The young man from Linton is a very, very good player, I don't know if he is the best Class B player in the state simply because I haven't seen very many teams play this year, but I will agree with Schwab that you would be hard pressed to convince me he is not in the top 5. District 6 is a 3 team race between KC, L-HMB and Strasburg for the region you can add Ellendale, Edgely-Kulm and Oakes.

Cav outplayed H/N the entire game but went 3-13 from the ft line. There’s no doubt that they can play tough.

Heard a player got booted from their last game so has to sit one out.

#1 Four Winds-Minnewaukan 81
Oak Grove 61

Grovers give them a solid game for 3 quarters before running out of gas.

FW-M over LEM 55-51 at Four Winds tonight. Competitive game for the most part. FW-M was up by 12 a couple of different times in the second half. According to Jake on the Langdon radio station FW-M only had 4 turnovers on the night compared to 15 for LEM. Sounds like LEM had some chances in the 4th but missed a couple free throws and had a couple of turnovers at inopportune times.

Must of been tied right before the player flop and the T Central Cass received. Central Cass Coach needs to realize his actions on the court is how his players think they should act. Good group of kids that need to stop turning the ball over (and flopping) and start getting some W's.

IMO the T was very, very ill-advised. Not necessary. Coach Norman never curses and stays off the court. I didn't see anything that warranted a T. The ref took over the game, IMO.

Just watched the video of the play; definitely contact by defender on shooter...video doesn't pick up convo between coach & official so no clue what was said. Unfortunate that the game came down to that.

What do these three posts have in common?

vikingman wrote:CC made a furious comeback in the 4th, were down by 1 with seconds left and had an uncontested layup opportunity that was snuffed out when there was a no-call trip on the CC player who was about to pass ahead for the layup. (full disclosure: most of the comeback occurred with Duchschere on the bench with 4 fouls)

I agree!! Trenton had the game won!! That’s too bad!!

If asking that calls are made the same on both ends of the court (paraphrasing but does not contain foul language) deserves a technical, there wouldn't be a coach that makes it through a game.

And I agree that CC needs to stop trying to draw so many calls and limit turnovers.

Yes, if you’re going to do anything there give a warning. Officials never want to involve themselves in the outcome of a game and this directly did, again.

The non call happens at a hard place of the floor to see if there was an actual foul and it's impossible to know (by watching the video) what was said by the coach.

That is BS. This official does. He's done it before as previously mentioned.
