Was a very good game by both teams Friday, Cole Myers has been playing lights out lately, very fun to watch, just have to get the other guards healthy by regions, will be a fun region for sure, lingen kid is about 65% as of know, no excuses for blowing a 18 pt lead though, Enderlin picked up the D. Should be a great game when Enderlin and Kinnerd play.

Richland vs Enderlin was a good game. After watching the game it looked like Richland lost the game more so then Enderlin winning it. Hard to say the D picked up when kids are missing everything in the fourth. You can't win any game by only scoring 6-8 points in a quarter. Enderlin also lacks guard play compared to Kindred and Richland. Enderlin's BIGS are the real deal though! Should be a great Region 1 & 2 Tourney this year. Will be sad to see some of these boys go.

Kindred lost to Hatton-Northwood & HCV stomped Thompson tonight.

Should be a full house in Kindred next thursday night. Get there early or you may have to hang from the rafters.

Region 1 Standings & Schedule going into final game on Thursday night

Kindred 11-0
Enderlin 10-1
3. Richland 9-2
Central Cass 8-3
Northern Cass 8-3
Oak Grove 7-4
Tri-State 5-6
Maple Valley 5-6
Milnor-North Sargent 3-8
Lisbon 3-8
Hankinson 2-9
12. Wyndmere-Lidgerwood 1-11
13. Sargent Central 0-11

Those with seeds next to them are solidified in those seeds right now.

**Schedule listed in order of seed significance
Thursday, February 27th
Enderlin @ Kindred
Northern Cass @ Oak Grove
Hankinson @ Milnor-North Sargent
Lisbon @ Tri-State
Maple Valley @ Richland
Sargent Central @ Central Cass

Basic & Most Likely Scenarios
Winner of Enderlin/Kindred is #1 Seed
Loser of Enderlin/Kindred is #2 Seed
Richland has clinched the #3 Seed and a 1st Round Bye

A Central Cass win over Sargent Central clinches the #4 Seed for the Squirrels

An Oak Grove victory over Northern Cass would give the Grovers the #5 Seed & Northern Cass would then receive the #6 Seed; A Northern Cass victory would give the Jaguars the #5 Seed & Oak Grove would fall to #6.

A Tri-State victory over Lisbon would give the Tigers the #7 Seed; Tri-State holds tiebreaker over MV if they happen to be tied in standings.

If Hankinson defeats Milnor-North Sargent & Lisbon loses to Tri-State there would be a 3-way tie
*Hankinson wins by 6 or more then Hankinson becomes the #9 seed, M-NS as the #10 Seed & Lisbon #11
**Hankinson wins by 5 or less (or M-NS defeats Hankinson): M-NS as the #9 seed, Lisbon as the #10 Seed & Hankinson #11

That is the game for the region. I believe it will be packed and plenty of dunks. Lots of size and two very athletic teams.

Any predictions for the game in Kindred tonight?

After seeing both play, I would take Kindred. Their guard play is much more experienced with Freier & Schaffer leading the way, and if Kindred pressures Enderlin's younger guards this will be the difference.

I agree, Kindred is really balanced and has a deep bench, thats whats going to make them a tough team to beat in Region 1.

That's because there were too many 3pt attempts out of kids that should be in the paint.

agreed ..and..IMO(and several others)..a 6'10 guy should not be bringing the ball down court and dribbling between his legs....but if the coach allows it ..it will continue

Very Physical game,, REfs allowed them to play I guess... went both ways..so it was even all around
Eagles were not on their game... not trying to find excuses...poor shooting..shot choices...trying to dunk when ya have an easy 2...to many rushed shots....WAAAY to many TOs....Home Court Advantage for Kindred helped

1 of Eagles bench players was out with a pulled back muscle..and the #2 off the bench went out EARLY with a cut above his eye..never came back..
that game could've went either way..Both Teams are good...should be a Great Regional

Go Eagles !

6'8"-6'10" guys bringing the ball down the court and dribbling between their legs is fairly common if we go just one state to the east.

Well Kindred has a 6'8" and Enderlin has a 6'10" so someone had to lose...

Most fans of basketball would rather have a 6'8" kid who wants to establish his play down low over a 6'10" kid who prefers to be a guard and not mix it up with the big boys. This is a big reason why Kindred is the favorite in R1 along with their veteran guard play. Keller controls the paint even though he isn't the most physical kid, and his footwork has really improved which shows he's put in the work. Add in Freier, who IMO is the 2nd best player in R1 after Cole Meyers, and you have a very balanced team that could make some noise at the state tournament.

I am a big fan of Kevin Durant. Was a big fan of Kevin Durant while he was in high school and college as well. Not saying that anyone in Region 1 is the next Kevin Durant, but I think many fans of basketball are fans of what he does and he was a 6'10' kid who preferred to be a guard and not mix it up with the big boys.

Basketball is a continually changing game and clearly what Kindred and Enderlin are doing with their personnel has been successful and that is why they are both upper level teams in Region 1 who likely have an opportunity to have a positive record representing Region 1 in the Class B State Tournament, if either team does qualify.
