If young Albrecht scored 10 points in that meeting, just for the wire, his older brother is averaging 30 since Meachem hasn't played.....that 13 point deficit at HCV gets swallowed in a hurry if hes in there....

Best Player Class B? Albrecht (the older) hands down.....

when Cavalier played them the first time (meachem was playing)) they equaled him (Dalton) out in points..
in the second meeting it was pick pick pick shoot and he didn't miss....Cav stayed man

#10 Grafton at #1 Thompson tonight. Should be a measuring stick for the Region 2 tourney if both teams are healthy at this time...Dalton Albrecht has been out with an ankle last few games..

Should be a good game. Does anyone know if it's being streamed anywhere?

when in doubt, always check NDSportsChannel.com. They have it scheduled. If it's a night when he isn't committed to doing a Fargo game, he usually manages to get the big matchups (as long as they're in the eastern part of the state)

Thompson finished ranked #1 in the final poll for the first time in school history.

Hillsboro-Central Valley finishes ranked for the 24th time, the most of any team. May-Port CG has been ranked 18 times, but not since 2007. Beulah is next with 17 appearances.

Richland makes just its second appearance in the poll and finishes with its highest ranking in school history. Kindred is ranked in the final poll for the first time in 17 years.

Dickinson Trinity made ten consecutive appearances from 1997-2006, the longest streak of any school.

Flasher, Tioga and North Shore have never been ranked or received a single vote in a final poll. Powers Lake, Warwick, Bowbells-Burke Central, Drake-Anamoose and Surrey have all received votes in at least one season but never been ranked. Interestingly, five of those eight teams have been to state.

how often have the #1 and #2 teams come from the same region?

I remember a couple of years in the mid-60s when Casselton and Ellendale might have been #1 and #2 (I'm not even sure if they had polls back then, but I remember the talk of them being the top 2 teams when they met in the region championship two years in a row. (Sizer, Bobzien, Pyle(s), Ford, etc.)

The AP poll started in the 1959-60 season. Class B and C were combined in the poll until Class C was dissolved. These are the occurrences of the #1 and #2 teams both coming from the same region:

1961: #1 New Town and #2 Hazen were both in R3 (there were only 4 regions at the time, with 2 teams advancing from each region). #10 Kenmare beat Hazen in the semifinals and New Town in the title game.

1967: #2 Ellendale beat #1 Central Cass 62-58 in the R1 final.

1969: #1 Oak Grove beat #2 Ellendale 47-46 in the R1 semifinals.

1977: #1 Hillsboro beat #2 Devil's Lake St. Mary's 61-52 in the R2 semifinals. Hillsboro also beat #3 Larimore 41-39 in the first round.

1978: #1 Larimore and #2 Mayville-Portland were both in the R2 tournament but did not play each other. May-Port was upset by Hatton on a last second shot in the semifinals. Larimore went on to win the tournament.

1994: #1 Minot Ryan, #2 Mohall and #3 Grenora were all in the R8 tournament. Mohall was upset by Trenton in the first round. Minot Ryan beat Grenora 75-52 in the title game.

2002: #1 Dickinson Trinity beat #2 Mott-Regent 61-56 in the R7 title game.

2017: #1 Four Winds-Minnewaukan beat #2 St. John 64-55 in the R4 title game.

2019: #1 Thompson vs #2 Hillsboro-Central Valley: Thompson has never been to state and is 0-4 in region title games. This is the Burros' 25th region championship appearance (16-8 record previously).

2006-2007 - District 1 opponents Lisbon & Hankinson were 1 & 2 respectively in 9th poll of season; Hankinson won District Title over Lisbon but they didn’t meet in Region Tourney as Lisbon was upset in 1st Round by OG 49-45...Hankinson won title over OG 48-47 and went on to place 6th @ State (losing to eventual Champion- Parshall)

would anybody happen to have the final poll from each year
dating back as far as possible?
asking a lot but just checking if someone has it on a spreadsheet or saved someplace
