I think this tourney will mirror the girls. No team that is a real favorite. Should be hard to see and wouldn't be surprised if nonseeded teams win some first round games.

so who's gonna win it? I'm a region 8-er...My pick to win it all is the bluejays...they've got all the tools...a quality big man, a quality forward (and probably the best in the state Wyatt Hanson) and hotshot quards...I know any team can be beat but if they play smart ball, they'll celebrate come Saturday night...

8 of the top 12 according to ND scores QRF. Should make for a good tournament.

Just a quick look back at the hoopster predictions for the teams that made it to state
1.HCV- 22nd in the hoopster
2.St John-8th
3.Bishop-5th
4.Stanley-1st
5.Carrington-3rd
UR. Beulah 2nd
UR. W/L not in the top 24
UR. Shiloh 4th

A lot of the top tier teams predicted to win their region made it to state Stanley, Beulah, Shiloh,Carrington, Bishop, and St. John. Obviously W/L was a suprise but congrats to them on a great season so far. HCV came in overlooked even after winning the state championship last season, but had a strong season and earned the #1 seed.

Hoopster did a poor job on ranking W-L....they should have been within the Top 24. That was my biggest shock when receiving the Hoopster this year.

My State Tournament Prediction

St. John defeats Wyndmere-Lidgerwood 61-58
Bishop Ryan defeats Shiloh Christian 62-43
Hillsboro-CV defeats Beulah 62-54
Stanley defeats Carrington 56-42

Consolation Semi-Finals
Wyndmere-Lidgerwood defeats Shiloh Christian 57-49
Carrington defeats Beulah 59-54

Semi-Finals
Bishop Ryan defeats St.John 60-54
Stanley defeats Hillsboro-CV 58-57

7th place
Beulah defeats Shiloh Christian 65-61
5th place
Wyndmere-Lidgerwood defeats Carrington 49-47
3rd place
Hillsboro-CV defeats St. John 65-53
State B Championship
Stanley defeats Bishop Ryan 67-64 OT

Now this is just a prediction so anything is possible. This could be just like class b girls tournament.

like you, i'm picking the bluejays to win it all this year...they played four winds pretty tough last year and imo, they just ran out of time. had the game gone another 5 minutes, i think they could have beat the Indians...any team can lose of course but if Stanley plays fast and loose without getting sloppy, i don't think anyone (with St. Johns the exception) can stay with them...

I'm going upset for this tournament. W/L knocks off H/CV for the title.

The stage is set for what looks to be one of the greatest opening rounds in a very long time. All four games can go either way, should be everything we look to see in the "B"

1. Stanley
2. St. John
3. HCV
4. Minot Ryan
5. Carrington
6. Wyndmere-Lidgerwood
7. Beulah
8. Bismarck Shiloh

Should be an exciting tournament! Some new faces here in W/L and St. John where it's been a very long time for each. I see some great first round match-ups. I'm excited to see St. John and to finally see the McGillis kid play. St. John will have a tough test in GM 1 as W/L is an outstanding defensive team. I do believe if Stanley plays their game, their bigs should dominate in the paint and win this tournament. The possible HCV/Stanley matchup could be a bruiser.

Good luck and congrats to all the teams that made it to the state B.

I’ve never participated in the ya ya cheer but I might make an exception for this tournament. Go Woodchucks!

I believe the winner of the games depends alot of how tight it is officiated. If they let people bang and be physical it is hard to pick against HCV. If it is a run and gun affair, I would go with St. John. I think Stanley is probably the most skilled team. WL has a bunch of gamers and senior dominated. Don't know much about Shiloh but without Ogbu can't see them going too far. Beulah is usually very athletic and guessing physical. Minot Ryan is pretty tough. This reminds me of the State Girls this year, wide open. Carrington is a perennial good team. If I had to pick one I go with the defending champs until somebody knocks them off

4.W-L
5.St. Johns
6.Carrington
7.Shiloh
8.Beulah

Haven't really seen any of these teams beside Ryan, St. John's and Shiloh, so take this with a grain of salt. Ryan is inconsistent, but if they're hitting shots and making smart decisions I don't see them losing. But yeah anything can happen on any given night especially since all of these teams are so evenly matched.

Seriously guy it’s just St. John. Don’t know why you type it in it’s possesive form

It's "possessive." Don't know why you can't spell.

But anyway, I used to think it was St. John's for a time too. Both colleges I can think of are St. John's.

We’re not a university. Would you say St. Thomas’s, ND; St. Anthony’s, ND; St. Gertrude’s, ND. It’s so stupid to fight over but it’s equally as stupid that people continually get it wrong.

I was just wondering which region had the best winning percentage versus the other regions. So, I ran the numbers, there were 333 games between regions. Most regions had over 75 games against other regions except region 1 and 2 which had a lot of games against Minnesota teams. The Minnesota games are not included in the following data.

Region vs Other regions
Reg. 8 (47-30) .610
Reg. 2 (34-30) .531
Reg. 4 (51-46) .526
Reg. 7 (40-39) .506
Reg. 1 (27-30) .474
Reg. 6 (50-58) .463
Reg. 3 (37-43) .463
Reg. 5 (47-58) .447
