New Town did not lose.
There JV lost to TLM
They do have a game against Shiloh on Saturday though so there still is a chace, either way someone on the polls will be down a game

New town sat 3 starters yes, but they still played 2 starters and the game was part of the varsity schedule so I don’t know how they’re considering it a jv game. If all 5 starters got hurt and couldn’t play that wouldn’t make it a jv game. To me it should still count as a loss on their varsity record. Correct me if I’m way off here

The two starters your referring to one is a freshman the other a junior. New Town sat 5 players all seniors 3 starters and the 6th and 7th guy off the bench. And if it was varsity vs varsity we woundnt be taking about this as i believe New Town would have crushed TLM.
TLM barley got passsed new towns jv with even though new towns jv had 40 plus fouls called on them.

So was there an actual JV game?

Yes. There was a normal 4 quarter jv game before the varsity game

Then this game was a varsity game Jack8. Just because your coach decided to sit the 3 starters & the 6th/7th guys off the bench does not mean it was a JV game. Take your loss with a little class.

It was a JV game talk to the AD at new town and turlte lake im sure you can get all your answers from them on why it was a JV game.
The reason why it was a JV game was because they had 21 games scheduled and had to drop 2 games the other was the tioga game.
And last it was new towns C squad that played before there JV that night .

I really feel TLMM wouldn't play Jacobs if it was a "JV" game, averages over 23 and is considered one of the top juniors in the state (prep hoops dakotas rankings) Might as well say the Standing Rock game was JV too. I get that New Town played jv players but that does not make it a JV game or TLMM wouldn't have scheduled it because they only have 19 games scheduled. To you first sentence, i might just go do that and see what they have to say.

Go look at the schedule. http://www.northdakotapreps.com/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=13670

There are around 20 or so varsity vs. JV matchups. This is nothing new.

I see. Thanks scc... alright Jack, you're right.. TLMM is no good, New town would have crushed them, and Jacobs' 50 is tainted. Just feel New town bacekers would not have made such a big deal of it if they would have won. We will see how both teams do around tournament time and that might tell us a little more.

This may be correct, my AD told me no player on our team could play on more dates than we had varsity games scheduled. So if we had 21 varsity games scheduled we couldn't have a player play on all those 21 dates plus a JV/C squad tournament. We don't have districts.

I dont think i said TLMM wasnt any good. I just think new town is better then them. Nobody made a deal about it until you did and if the jv wouldve won noboby would have said anything about it cause it was just another game. And last what does waiting around until tournament time even mean? As far as im concern you cant compare region 5 to region 8 this year.
In region 5 TLMM should make it to the region finals agaisnt Shiloh. Once there anything can happen as they have shown last year. I hope they do make it again it was a good story last year

I don't see how Orcs, never hit the poll again. Their only 2 losses were to RV Shiloh, early in the season when Shiloh was rated and to Bishop Ryan who was ranked well all season long and they beat Beulah.

Stanley plays Kenmare at home for the number 1 seed in Districts tonight. Imo, if they lose they should drop to RV.

If ORCS wins all 3 of there games this week they should be in the last poll teams they have to beat this week Bottineau,Velva and Stanley 3 tough teams.
Also #8 Beulah plays # 9 New Town one of them with be taking a L giving ORCS a chance to move up

When regions are over at most is you will be getting only 5 out the 10 in the poll to state. I wouldn't be surprised if we see only 3 of these teams reach the state tournament. I look at where some of these teams could be beat by teams not in current poll. Its not the important poll now the poll that means most is how are these teams going to fare in there regional tournament.

Someone just wants CYA Just in case they do some thing.

Standing Rock is the team to beat right now.
Wilton did play very well in dist.10 title game. They could be peaking at the right time.

Wilton played well I wouldn't credit the shooting of Wilton as much as I'd credit the defensive play for shutting down TLMM shooters. But they made the shots when they needed and Backman was hard to stop that last quarter. I'm a little surprised as well that Shiloh or even Standing Rock didn't RV but TLMM did. I was all for TLMM receiving votes before I watched SR dismantle them. TL is a good team but SR is playing really well as of late.

I would take both Shiloh and Standing Rock over TLMM. Shiloh has a good balance of shooters and is always going to have the biggest player on the court in Young. The x-factor for Shiloh IMO is Brunelle with his ability to make plays with his speed and outside shooting. Standing Rock has a tough trio of guards and some size inside. What makes Standing Rock scary is their ability to full court pressure other teams and cause turnovers. TLMM has two studs capable of combining for 50 points a night, but lacks other consistent scorers. I think what will be TLMMs downfall will be post defense. During the season they have given up big games to other teams post players.
