In Region 5 Shiloh Christian, TLMM, & Washburn no one gave those two a chance and ended up playing in the region title game. So anything can happen in region 5.

I heard Charlie Black tore his ACL in football?? rumor? I think St. John will win it if that is the case. Grafton will pull the upset win in Region 2.

Would hardly be an upset if Grafton wins R2 anyone who follows the Regions knows how tough they will be, 1/3 of the ppl on the thread picked them to win.
It is a little harder to motivate kids I guess because they’ve been pampered so much. We’re in the trophy generation, give ‘em a trophy for 23rd place, make ‘em feel good. Make mom and dad feel good.” Tom Izzo, Michigan State Basketball

Black is out for the season, but he gets replaced with a 6'9 freshman center Bronson walter and and a 6'4 sophomore doug yankton. fwm and st. john scrimmaged this past Saturday at fw. let me tell you this, it was only decided by 4 points. st. john stuck with their starting 5 through the whole game and fw used all the team to get everyone playing . Looking at st. john schedule I see theres no way they should lose. fwm arguably one of the toughest schedule in the state.it should be fun around tournament time. :D :) :( :o  :? 8) :x :P       :!:   :|

Region 2 I have doubts that Thompson will be the number one team coming out of that region. I think Grafton and Hillsboro CV will be top two teams. Also believe some of teams 3 to 8 could be a lot better than expected some these teams were young last year like Cavalier, Midway-minto, and even Park River. I would not be surprised final two teams may not be one of the top 2 teams listed now. Region 4 definitely the top two teams are St. John and Fourwinds. Dakota Prairie will depend how Hunter Sand plays after his football injury if he has lingering effects from the injury I doubt they will be number 3 team in the region. Langdon/Munich/Edmore will be good team this year but I just don't see them being able to beat the top two teams. Other regions not that familiar with so I will not attempt to comment on them.

Is Shiloh that good to be ranked #2 in your opinion, just wondering?

That is one that may change as the season progresses...I'm hearing they have injuries from FB that will affect their BB season. BUT, Ogbu and Young are tough matchups for lots of teams

TLMM does return 3 starters Jacobs, Laframboise, Klain. I did hear Jacobs may have injured his finger in a scrimmage. Don't know if that will affect him yet but look for TLMM to push for region champ again

Jacobs is just fine. Just a dislocated finger, from what I hear he is at full health and practicing without restraints.

Anyone know anything about the Hazen/Watford game, score sort of surprised me especially since everyone was so high on Watford coming in. Knew Hazen has Doll but thought they were a year away with a nucleus of young kids.

Got to give Hazen a lot of credit for playing a real good game (shot lights out). It will be hard to tell how good WC will be until they get everyone back after Christmas (missing 3 key players). They are playing with a small bench and will likely struggle until they get into basketball shape.

What players are missing from Watford City and why?

I do not believe it is my place to answer that question of "who or why" or if it should matter, but they will be a better team when they are back. Depth and experience is so important with a young team.
